Midway launches online arcade, digital storefront
As if we didn't already have enough ways to purchase Joust, Midway has launched the "Midway Arcade," which offers just as much quarter-pumping excitement as the name implies. The online store -- really, it's just a store -- features 14 ancients for purchase and download in preset bundles, along with, oddly enough, $5 PC versions of select games from Midway's TouchMaster compilation for DS. Midway's also selling some of its contemporary efforts -- in another location -- for direct download to PC, highlighted by titles like Unreal Tournament 3 and ... what's this? Midway Arcade Treasures! That's right, today alone, we've got two new ways to own Joust. You know, just in case.

And Mortal Kombat is not anywhere in the site.May I ask WTF?
DangerMouse @ Jul 11th 2008 3:04PM
Wasn't 2 and 3 part of the treasures pack or something? Anyway, i guess Blitz & the NBA jam series aren't availible digitally because of licensing issues. A shame, those are the only games i would be interesting in buying, especially with online multiplayer.

Yeah because no one wants to play Trilogy...
Lack of MK = Fail.

No "The Grid"? $@ Midway.

That's what I was thinking, too. That, and an arcade perfect port of San Francisco Rush 2049. Hopefully, this does well, Midway adds other games, and other companies (Sega, Namco, I'm looking at you guys) follow suit.

looking at that list just reminds us how far midway is from its "Glory" days... sad

Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe, assuming it's the same as the boxed PC copy, contains MK1, MK2, and MK3.

My friend got screwed by this racket- er, service. He paid $5 for three games, and wound up with a bum code that couldn't be used to download ANYTHING. Hey, did I mention that Sumner Redstone owns Midway, too?

Same thing happened to me, STAY AWAY FROM THIS!!!! they even emailed me back with new unlock code and even THAT didnt work!!
