Im all about luigi. mario is cool and all but hes just like the default choice most of the time. plus green is my favorite color.

Luigi: mainly because whenever I see Mario I see Ron Jeremy. Also, green is superior to red.

I like Luigi because he is the side guy, and he has more personality than Mario. I also like how he is taller and thinner, and runs faster!

The only reason I like Mario is because red's my favourite colour. But Luigi is definitely more funnier, especially in his introduction in Subspace in Brawl.

I wish Luigi had more starring rolls. Luigi's Mansion was an AWESOME friggin' game... A little short, but I really enjoyed that experience, and would love to see a Wii follow-up.
So, I guess I am going to have to say Luigi... simply because my chances to play as him are few and far between.

Luigi is taller. Luigi has a deeper voice. Luigi is GREEN. Luigi has saved Mario in two games (Mario is Missing and Luigi's Mansion). Luigi has a better mustache. Luigi's SSBM taunt does damage.

Well I'd definitely pick Luigi, back when I used to play Melee, my friend and I would always pick mario, but that got really confusing. We did rock paper scissors in order to find out which one of us would get to play as Mario, my friend won, and I had to be Luigi. At first I thought he sucked, but when I learned how to use his low grip to my advantage, I used him every match, and slowly became a master with him. And before you know it Luigi was my favorite Nintendo character, and when I got Brawl I immediately worked to get Luigi unlocked, then after learning how to play as him again in Brawl, I'm now still the master with Luigi....

Luigi. Ever since Mario 2 (USA). Old twinkle toes was the only character you really needed. Maybe Peach for one level and Toad for two (to get as many slot spins as possible), but really, Luigi always handled the bulk of that game for me. Been a fan ever since. Mario was just useless in that game. Totally mediocre and unimportant.

But, I've always been a Luigi fan, even in the NES days. Even when playing Super Mario without a second player, I'd start up a 2P game, launch Mario into the first Goomba, and proceed to play the game through as Luigi.

I don't understand why we have to choose, and why mario and luigi are depicted as sometimes antagonistic towards each other. whenever i think of mario and luigi, i think of my brother and i (who frequently play smb3 on the nes), as two brothers, with great differences, who love each other like true brothers and who are always looking out for the other. our mad skills as mario and luigi in that awesome game shun out any semblance to cowardice on luigi's part. the question shouldn't be which do you prefer, but rather, when playing with a friend or brother or whoever who is going to be mario, and who is going to be luigi? (i usually take luigi because i am younger)

Luigi, of course. He's the older brother. Jumps higher, has had a moustache longer, etc... And I believe his constantly getting in trouble & needing rescue is merely bad decisions made by writers to add plot-twists and stuff. Luigi is, by far, the better brother for adventuring. Although, I must say, Mario has way better games.

I would say Mario is better. He is like me: shorter and a little bigger than Luigi. My brother is like Luigi because he is taller and skinnier than me. Come to think of it, we should be the Mario Bros.

Luigi? He's really developed a lot of personality in the past few years. Games like Luigi's Mansion established that he's a coward and he's awkward. We get to read his journal in Paper Mario, learning his innermost thoughts.
And, now, it seems like he's forgettable in the Mushroom Kingdom. People either ask him who he is, or assume he's an obsessed Mario fanboy.

Luigi. He's such a goof. Look at that winning pose in Smash Bros. where he just falls down! Mario could never make that look good.
On a side note, isn't Mario the better runner of the two? In Lost Levels and SMB2, Luigi was slower than his brother.

Luigi, since he was the only reason Super Mario Galaxy was playable for me. Mario moved more inflexibly and slowly than the controls in Resident Evil 4.

My favorite Brother has always been Luigi. Especially in recent games, Mario has no personality - he never talks, except to say "It's-a me!" as if we didn't already know, or "Woohoo!" or "Waha!" It's particularly noticeable in the Paper Mario series, but the main entries are no exception either. Luigi has personality! He's funny, and he wears green. What more do you need?
