Cool video. Looks like they added bullet entrails to the shotty.

Holy s*** that lancer shoots fast. Between that, the bullet slow-down, and proximity frags the gameplay/pace of this game is going to be 200% different than Gears 1 was.

haven't they already show footage of security where if you break the lasers you get shot at i'm guessing it's one of them just there to pose a threat to everyone

So do all of the weapons have tracer rounds now?

Half the fun in the game was getting shot and being forced to rotate and figure out who was shooting you.

Now, look for smoke trails...

Has anyone else noticed that there is definitely a Torque Bow where the Sniper Rifle used to be on Gridlock?

well they said in the new game power weapons cycle, so there may be a torque bow there, or a sniper or a boomshot.

Also, could be a player match. In GOW1 you could change the weapons too in player match.

Also, did you notice that it's on the other side of the platform now? It's no longer hidden in that small alcove, it's more open and vulnerable

The Scorcher is more narrow and long with the fuel tank on the right front. This gun looks boxy and has a large barrel, like a gattling gun. This must be a new gun they'll talk about tomorrow.

is it just me or was the blood like an orange looking color. i thought it was just the locusts blood at first but then the cogs blood was that way too, iono though, might just be my computer.

So has the "Flying through the level" Camera been confirmed for use by players during multiplayer? Cause that'd be totally sweet.

Confirmed a while back, actually. There's the fly-through by security cams and also a free-roaming ghost cam for dead players. Plus the ability to take snapshots w/ content scoring. No videos, though.

The map they show for the majority of the video looks like it will play a lot like raven down with a second story.

Yeah, same basic X pattern, but it looks a lot larger in scope than Raven Down. Just wish we could see someone destroy some of those arcade games.

Gameplay looks to have been massively changed, seen how fast there dropping with nothing but a pistol?

How many times was a shotty used in the first video? Only time i spotted it being used was against a bot.

I'm fine with these changes as long as they don't ruin the game, I hope Epic can pull this off and make Gears 2 the same hit online gears 1 was, don't let me down Epic. ;O

The shotgun was used more than once in the vid, but I think the point is that it will no longer be the go-to gun to use in almost all situations in a multiplayer match (due to exploits players found in Gears 1). Hopefully, this will give matches a lot more variety in the way battles play out.

It looks awesome. The new Hammerburst (I think that's what it was) looks pretty devastating from the video.

I don't know about those Flash\Smoke grenades and their new knockdown proximity effect. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it has lots of new uses. However, I've always thought any weapon that can kill you instantly or, at the least, knock you off your feet and leave you incredibly vulnerable, should be earned by the player and not given off the beginning of the round. (Assuming you still get a smoke grenade at the beginning.) In any case, that's the only thing I don't want added to the game. Good idea but I think its practical application will take away, not add, to the strategy of the game. Similar to how the 3 grenade perk in COD4 is lame. It's cool up until you walk into a random grenade every 5 seconds that you know was thrown as soon as the guy spawned with no particular target in mind.

ideally it will also be a pickup weapon, perhaps a variation on the regular smoke you will get at spawn?
So theres a smoke, a flash(Smoke)bang, and the reg grenades?

Yeah, if it were a pickup weapon, I'd be completely down for that. Good question - I don't know if it is or not. It would be more like a flashbang then. Ha. The only problem is I've only seen "Smoke" grenades mentioned in the gun details. :-(

Unfortunately, no.

There is only one type of smoke grenade, and it is the one shown in the video. And yes, you still spawn with one in every round.

I just hope it doesn't become overused and automatically gets labeled a noob weapon.

Seeing random numbers pop up near the players name after kill. Any info on that??
