Print ads hint at PS3 greatest hits: Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk

Two retail print ads have shown what appears to be three PlayStation 3 titles getting the "Greatest Hits" treatment. The trio shouldn't be surprising: Resistance, Motorstorm and Warhawk. A Kmart print ad shows box art with a red banner reading "Greatest Hits," while a Circuit City ad shows the same three games, sans new packaging, for $30. (You can tell it's the most recent ad since Soul Calibur IV is mentioned as coming out this week.) We expect an official announcement at Sony's press conference this week at E3 2008.

how is it that those ads HINT at the price drop? it looks like its blatently advertising it...

I don't know why people are complaining, after the horrible PS2 greatest hits boxes I'm actually quite relieved that the only difference being is the red case, which actually makes them look arguably better.

I hope the discs look the same.

I agree. I think the red/black look is pretty good. It just has a weird vibe to it since they look like HD DVD cases.

I think the box art is made ugly on purpose. That way the people who paid full price have something over the discount buyers.

So is Warhawk gonna come with the blue-tooth headset? And is the PSN version gonna drop in price too? I'm guessing probably no to both, but it would be nice.

Only losers care what color the box is, then again only losers display their games like some sad badge of honor. "look at me! I've spent thousands of dollars on games!" I didn't think the PS3 had any hits yet?

I think you should generally have more "hits" (as in more than 3) before a GREATEST hits should even be considered... and what about ninja gaiden sigma, heavenly sword, or folklore?

ninja gaiden sigma was very good.

uncharted deserved so much more. i personally preferred that game more than MGS4.

ah sweet, i love greatest hits. being able to buy a brand new game for such a low price, and then you also know its a good one, and something you know you'll like. its a good feeling.

doods.. really, what insecurities manifest that you fret over what the box art looks like? :\
