Source: Geometry Wars 2 announced tomorrow, dropping this week?

Our source informs us that the game has already passed certification, clearing the major barrier of entry for all Xbox Live Arcade titles. Is Microsoft going to "bring Geometry Wars 2 home" tomorrow? We already know they're launching Coffeetime Crosswords and Shred Nebula next week, but a follow-up to Xbox 360's Number 1 launch title would be polygonal icing on the keynote cake.

My pants would be ringing wet. And not with urine.
tifosiotaku @ Jul 13th 2008 7:29PM
I suck at Geometry Wars, but I'd welcome a sequel anyways. ^_^
LordChimp @ Jul 13th 2008 7:06PM
I like the first one but I am terrible at it. I will most likely still buy the sequel.
caramelzappa @ Jul 13th 2008 8:34PM
I've spent way too much money on Geometry Wars. I bought the DS version, 360 version, and PC version. I'm hoping Geo Wars 2 brings in elements from the ds/wii versions.
CB @ Jul 13th 2008 7:09PM
You know, I booted up Geo Wars yesterday and it reminded me of all the fun times I had when the 360 launched.
VerasGunn @ Jul 13th 2008 7:23PM
Meh, the first one was fun, but I was never too crazy over it. I'd much prefer microsoft announcing and releasing Castle Crashers this week.
tcc3 @ Jul 13th 2008 11:30PM
Is that even a real game?
I hear its going to release with DNF...
I could go one all day
therpham @ Jul 13th 2008 7:24PM
Oh please oh please oh please oh please!
I promise I'll actually buy this one instead of playing the demo forever if it's announced tomorrow!
... Maybe.

I used to love this, great fun however it then got outdone imo by Super Stardust HD
Tez (PSN: Tezasaurus) @ Jul 13th 2008 7:49PM
agreed.
deaftly @ Jul 14th 2008 11:47AM
word.
Rodrigo @ Jul 13th 2008 7:38PM
Super Stardust HD is better than this game but it's fun too.
007craft @ Jul 13th 2008 7:38PM
please no. I guess theres like 0 chance now for me seeing duke 3d for e3 :(
Kiltman67 @ Jul 13th 2008 7:51PM
I think this'll go live during the conference. I know Sony are supposed to be doing the same with another game and this year Major Nelson etc. are really pushing all the ways you can listen to the conference. Would make sense to do this if a game is going to follow.
thatguy @ Jul 13th 2008 8:01PM
I hope the music is as addictive as the gameplay!
Obie @ Jul 13th 2008 8:17PM
Dayum! Tempting, if it has co-op I might just splurge!
Vii @ Jul 13th 2008 8:40PM
Now if only the guys that made Geometry Wars could be persuaded that it would be more lucrative to release a copy of GW2 to PSN that would make my day.
Jonah Falcon @ Jul 13th 2008 9:22PM
How so? Every multiplatform game sells almost twice as much on the 360 than PS3.
Vii @ Jul 13th 2008 9:27PM
Well like I said....if they could be convinced that it would be more profitable then maybe they would take the time to port it. It was purely a hypothetical statement. I loved GW from the 360, but I don't have a 360 I have a PS3. I would love to see this title crossover. Either that or could someone get Jonathan Mak on the phone and ask him when Everyday Shooter 2 is coming out?
Also the only reason that most multiplatform games outsell games on the PS3 is because more people have a 360 than a PS3. Which is saying something about the console sales war more than the race to produce multiplatform vs. exclusive titles. Then again MS is probably throwing so much money at the guys that made GW that they have no reason to go multiplatform anyway. *sigh* At least I have Echochrome....

I'm close to finishing getting gold medals on all the DS levels, I don't know if my fingers can take more so soon....
Covarr @ Jul 13th 2008 8:34PM
Part of me hoPes it comes to PSN as well, but chances are Pretty slim.
Please excuse the caPital "P"s, as my P key is broken and I coPied and Pasted them all from the same highlighted bit of text.
Shaq-Fu @ Jul 13th 2008 8:37PM
Mmmmmmmm... geometry never tasted so good
Joe @ Jul 14th 2008 12:49AM
Wow, Microsoft and Harmonix are officially conspiring to get me to buy another points card, between this and The Who on Tuesday.
Stop with the amazing content for a few weeks! Or at least until I get my first paycheck and I can make sure it's enough to cover that ticket to see NIN...
John Z @ Jul 14th 2008 7:40AM
My 360's still in for repairs. RAGE, HATE, etc.
Though getting GW for the Wii for $10 is keeping me satiated in the "HOLY CRAP HARD" department.
Danny @ Jul 14th 2008 8:51AM
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved WAS Geometry Wars 2. Remember?
GrossGreg @ Jul 14th 2008 12:39PM
Not really; it was more of a remake.
