1 vs. 100 game show coming to Xbox Live Primetime
26
The recently rumored game show channel for Xbox Live was officially announced at this morning's Microsoft press conference in the form of "Xbox Live Primetime." TV producer Endemol has teamed up with Microsoft to produce the new massively-multiplayer game show channel, which will include a version of the semi-popular NBC show 1 vs. 100, complete with real prizes (no word on whether host Bob Saget is involved). Primetime is part of Microsoft's new "Live Party" community channel, which includes the long-rumored Avatars. No word on what, if any, other game shows will be coming to Primetime, but we're hoping for a version of Ninja Warrior that involves rampant button mashing.

It would probably sound like the Theme Song to Rawhide... And feature a cute little mouse named Fievel and Jimmy Stuart.

Really? Do you recall the competition Microsoft had awhile back where people with the most gamerpoints received prizes? I don't remember paying for that.

Perfect for the Xbox Live User who's tired of the limitations of Call of Duty 4 and craves 100 people hurling racial slurs at him.

Anyone else confused about how avatars, party mode, and games like this work? I could care less about avatars, and have no interest in game shows, but the 8-player party chat thing and the ability to take a group across games is cool. Can I do that without having to use avatars? Can it work with older games? Lots and lots of questions.

If done right, this could be amazing. I mean, how often do people watch gameshows at home already and scream answers at the television? It's just like that, except your screaming actually MEANS something. I'm all for it.
