Mirror's Edge E3 trailer
Want to see the newest trailer for Mirror's Edge from the EA Press Conference? Do you like rhetorical questions? Yeah, anyway, it can be found after the break. Just, please, please, please, don't let the footage inspire you to reenact the scenes you see. Remember, these are professionally trained pixels in the art of parkour.

Saw it.
It is awesome.
I want to pre-order so bad.
JJ Rooster @ Jul 14th 2008 11:49PM
I'm puzzled. Do you just keep running forward and pressing a button whenever you get near something red? It looks like fun, but if it's that linear this would be like a theme park ride you try once and move on.
Neebs @ Jul 14th 2008 11:51PM
It's not linear. Look around in the trailer. There's a lot of paths they aren't taking.
Mischa @ Jul 15th 2008 2:34AM
You can with only $5 down and goes towards the price of the game.
Have you heard of the "edge" card?
EBH @ Jul 14th 2008 7:54PM
meh
Casper32 @ Jul 14th 2008 7:57PM
Do want. Alot.
Jon @ Jul 14th 2008 8:00PM
Wow that looked really cool until I noticed it's from EA.
The rush every game to market. It will end up a solid 6 when released...just enough to make a ton of money but still be a throw-away game.
DAK @ Jul 14th 2008 8:04PM
Thanks for posting twice Jon, gives me two chances to rate you down.
But seriously, are we still blindly judging all games because they come from one company that you have a negative impression of? Why not wait till the game comes out before you say its going to be rushed and get a 6 out of 10 for reviews. I happen to think this game looks like a lot of fun and very ambitious and a big risk is being taken, something EA doesn't do often and when they do all you can do is complain.
Blah, people will always find something to complain about.
Truckondo @ Jul 14th 2008 8:10PM
Rock Band is also from EA but I don't remember it getting a 6.
ChooChooCharlie @ Jul 14th 2008 8:13PM
Dead Space is looking pretty damn good too.
EA is at least trying to change. Give them a chance.
blahblahbloo @ Jul 14th 2008 8:20PM
Just like Burnout Paradise, I guess.
B @ Jul 14th 2008 8:28PM
Yay, another fool that's jumping on the 'Lets hate on EA' bandwagon.
Year after year they come out with great titles. Overall they make good games, some better than others.
B @ Jul 14th 2008 8:29PM
btw... this is a DICE game... just published by EA (afaik).
That's like hating Biowares games just because they have EA slapped on them.
dustandechoes91 @ Jul 14th 2008 10:47PM
a lot of ea games turn out great...crysis, rock band, c&c games, and many more. They only ones they tend to mess up are the more family/kid oriented games.
Also look at what microsoft did to halo 1. As good as it was, they gave bungie an almost impossible deadline and soo much got cut-and it still turned out amazing-better than the really good but not amazing halo 2 and that crap expansion pack with newer super reflective shaders for 360 they call halo 3.

I'm having trouble ordering the fail from least to greatest. I think it should go: the double post, Yankees, then hating a company for things that happened long ago, and finally hating on a game you've yet to play and has so far looked great.
Rabidkeebler @ Jul 14th 2008 11:10PM
Yes, because Bad Companies weapon fiasco was such a long time ago. Or how about EAs epic screw up of protection on Mass Effect for the PC. As much as this game looks awesome, I purposely limit the amount of stuff I purchase from EA. I probably would have purchased bad company since it is summer, but because of the crap with the weapons they attempted to pull (and to a certain extent are still pulling) I did not buy it, nor will I buy it.
Will I buy this game, maybe, it depends on how everything else turns out. But I will buy Spore, and I have a strong inkling to buy Mercenaries 2. But don't attempt to justify EA and all the bull that it has done, and will do in the future.
Jon @ Jul 14th 2008 11:24PM
What a bunch of retarded hypocrites!
You "hate on" a person for "hating on" a gi-friggin-normous mega corporation that's going to make billions of dollars this year?
And then "hate on" some more because I like the Yankees?
If the game turns out to be a classic, great. I'll play a AAA game even if it is from EA. That still doesn't change the fact that EA makes consistently mediocre games and runs a monopoly over the sports gaming business.
@ RabidKeebler...thanks for coming to my rescue! Even if it was unintentional! lol
ParksCo2 @ Jul 14th 2008 8:01PM
Well this just went from a wait and see to an almost buy. If they can capture the free running from Prince of Persia, and the off beat reality of Portal.... This just might be the surprise game of the year. Also the pre-order comes with a cool bag!
NukeAssault @ Jul 14th 2008 8:01PM
Wow, that looked really fluid.
Kamizar @ Jul 14th 2008 8:04PM
Beautiful music...
B @ Jul 14th 2008 8:33PM
Agreed. Just the music makes me want to buy it.
ugg.tryptophan @ Jul 14th 2008 10:11PM
reminds of the music for ghost in the shell: soc, or whoever sings that theme song, which is good
VampireHunter Z @ Jul 15th 2008 12:13AM
It does remind me of Gost in the Shell. I wonder what's the name of this music track.
jax sedrin @ Jul 15th 2008 10:01AM
Actually, it reminds me more of Imogen Heap's "Headlock"
Jomolungma @ Jul 14th 2008 8:04PM
I guess this looks like a cool concept, but some of the objects in the video seemed pretty low quality graphically... might have just been the video, but it was weird - gorgeous vistas with really plain character models, vehicles and environments. I'm intrigued though.
Chase @ Jul 14th 2008 8:10PM
I'd sacrifice some graphics to make it a better gaming experience.
Jomolungma @ Jul 14th 2008 8:13PM
So would I - it's just I thought I had read from a few places that the game was pretty gorgeous. I think I had higher expectations for the graphics based on that.
Paulmichael @ Jul 14th 2008 8:32PM
It appears to be gorgeous in a different, back-to-basics way. Simple graphics that are seemingly done right.
Sora @ Jul 14th 2008 8:04PM
If this is open world like Assassin's Creed and GTA are, I'll buy this on day one.
Ben! @ Jul 14th 2008 8:27PM
Pretty positive it's not.
Soapyshoes @ Jul 14th 2008 10:44PM
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've seen an interview where they say it's not going to be open world and it will be fairly linear.
Sam @ Jul 15th 2008 4:29PM
i'm glad its not, it will have multiple paths though so it has an open world feel, if it was open world it would probably be boring and really repetitive (notice how gta and assassins creed are kind of repetitive) not being open world it can focus on neat puzzle concepts like portal did.
Vcize @ Jul 14th 2008 8:08PM
This looks like a cool concept, but I don't see how this game is going to stay fresh for 8-10 hours without getting old.
Matt_M @ Jul 14th 2008 8:26PM
Yeah, how could anyone ever find running, jumping, and occasionally shooting entertaining for hours?
What's next, a game about skateboarding? Psh, that doesn't even HAVE guns.
What if the game was JUST running and jumping? The horror, the horror.
fuzzy @ Jul 14th 2008 8:10PM
Is it just me, or with the vocals that come into the music at the end, it sounds like the same group that did the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex opening song?
ChooChooCharlie @ Jul 14th 2008 8:42PM
Definitely sounded similar.
Digital Fox @ Jul 14th 2008 9:18PM
You're thinking of Origa, and I kind of disagree. It sounds similar, but I think the music sounded a lot like more Imogen Heap.
Churchy @ Jul 14th 2008 8:18PM
I'll probably end up pre-ordering this just for the bag.
Although I really hope they have alot of disarm animations otherwise those are gonna get old quick.
Levi @ Jul 14th 2008 8:25PM
Sounded like Imogen Heap, some crazy chick that dresses neat and does all of her own music with drum tracks, keyboards and various instruments... might not be, but sounds like her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeL_6jv_774 the studoi recording of that one is so awesome. But personally, I listen to metal.. Every Time I Die, the Fall of Troy...
... so the game looks awesome... I'm gonna buy it...
Xoviet chiK @ Jul 14th 2008 8:35PM
Does have a very "Imogen Heap" sound to it, though the vocalist doesn't sound like her at all. Up until now I had been thinking/hoping it would be Mogwai, though now I doubt it.
DICE did say it was an original score commissioned for the game by well known music industry producers... Hope they reveal who soon. Given us quite a beautiful sampling so far, I'd buy the OST.
Levi @ Jul 14th 2008 10:04PM
lol really thought I was just going to get some flames for that comment. I totally agree tho, Xoviet
Mr.ESC @ Jul 14th 2008 8:21PM
Schweet.
It still reminds me of Sonic.
By the way what happened to Sonic Unleashed?
Paulmichael @ Jul 14th 2008 8:35PM
How's it remind you of Sonic? The music kinda sounds like something outta Sonic Adventure, but other than that I got nothing...
Autopsy15 @ Jul 14th 2008 8:49PM
That is simply the enigma that is Mr.ESC.
Mischa @ Jul 15th 2008 2:34AM
Actually, this would have been a really awesome direction for the sonic series to go, but I have no idea why this reminds you of sonic.
bluezy @ Jul 14th 2008 8:25PM
Wow, looks great.
pakkman781 @ Jul 14th 2008 8:27PM
Gonna be amazing!
ogvor @ Jul 14th 2008 8:42PM
I like how it appears that colors designate something you can grab or use in the environment. Makes for subtle but obvious hints at how to move through the game world.
Lard @ Jul 14th 2008 8:45PM
I liked the music, but it's just another FPS where you're punching instead of shooting. Why is everyone getting so worked up about it?
