Mirror's Edge E3 trailer

Want to see the newest trailer for Mirror's Edge from the EA Press Conference? Do you like rhetorical questions? Yeah, anyway, it can be found after the break. Just, please, please, please, don't let the footage inspire you to reenact the scenes you see. Remember, these are professionally trained pixels in the art of parkour.

Just another FPS where you're punching instead of shooting? Talk about missing the point.
The game is revolutionary because it is the first to take this kind of player movement to a first person game. The setting is also somewhat original. Not so many games have a courier as the protagonist. The choice to make a first person game that you can complete without firing a shot is also somewhat daring in today's market.

I am so getting that no-shootie achievement.
Not just a game you can beat without shooting, but a game that focuses on parkour, and the music certainly seems to be tailored to increase the "freedom" feeling you can get from jumping off a skyscraper (before you realize you'll become a puddle of meat and bones in a few seconds)

I hope that this doesn't go into a sandbox mode. It is one thing to have areas branch off, but at the same time it should be linear. I feel that games are turning away from going from point "A" to point "B". Often times they want you to explore, but at the same time they lose focus on the details that really make a game shine.

Love the music, and the game looks amazing. If they can get the game mechanics right (think Assassin's Creed but even more fluid) then this will definitely be on my must play list.

Looks really good. A lot like Breakdown which I really enjoyed and was one of my favorite Xbox games. Hopefully this gets the recognition it deserves.

Since holding a gun clearly limits your movement options, it looks like people's fears of this becoming a generic FPS with parkour are unsubstantiated. It seems like the main challenge will be getting close enough to a soldier without being shot.
I hope that they leave a good bit of room for failure in the platforming, though. It's still a mystery how much timing and reflexes are going to factor into the parkour, or if it will be more of an on rails experience.

Looks awesome. I love the use of lighting, ans especially the waythey've used color to give you indicators of where to go (red things) without it being intrusive or having stupid HUD elements.
I do wonder if it'll need a PoP style rewind feature to stop it being frustrating though... Still, as long as they don't compromise the vision and add too much combat this is up in my top 3 awaited game, along with Fallout 3 and dragon age.

Where can I get my hands on that song? I love it in every new trailer that comes out.
