8. The Roku box costs an additional $100 when I already have a 360.
9. I already have a Live Gold sub, so zero additional dollars there.
10. Already have a Logitech remote as well.
I think that at least 1 and 2 describe a decent amount of people's situations. Basically all we have to do is sit back and wait for the update.

What about the millions of people who already own the 360 and have the Live account? Getting a Roku box would be an additional $99, and that's not counting what ever else you may need for the extra port, when not using the DVD drive (or even when using it for a movie)the 360 is relatively quite, maybe not as quiet as the Roku but not all that noisy in my living room when watching video. As for extra cost, even if I got the Roku I'm still paying for my Live! subscription for other stuff, also they didn't mention you needed Gold, which might still mean it's free as the Live! Silver(free)users (remember they too are Live "subscribers") have still been able to use all of the content features (just not online competition and leader boards) so if it works the same as getting other movies or other content then your argument of

You have to consider the audience. This is obviously for existing 360 owners and meant as an extra enticement for those people considering a console purchase. Obviously no one is going to a 360 over a device like the Roku if all they want is a Netflix box.
But if you already have a 360 and are a Gold member then this is a FREE addition. Plus, you don't have to add yet another box and take up another input in your entertainment center. I think the main issue is the noise. The 360 can indeed get annoying.

TVersity is nice. If you're not afraid of nuking your whole computer to try and decipher conflicting codec registry entries. I ran far away from that and just convert video to whatever the PS3 can play, which is quite a large set of video types anyhow.

Funny when I run it on my machine (which isn't all that often mind you, since most of my stuff just works on the 360)it doesn't have such issues and also doesn't take hours, so I can watch my stuff when I sit down on the couch and not waste extra time waiting. Bottom line is both Sony and MS need to expand Codec support without using 3rd party utilities, but as it stands for my stuff the 360 runs more videos without the need for plug ins or extra software, than my PS3. Also to be fair TVVersity runs on the PS3 as well.

All the info is not out yet and I am guessing it will only be for the "watch now" service on netflix. Mostly older movies yet some very good ones along with alot of trash. Not the biggest library yet either although it can only improve. If this were to include new releases that would be awesome but somehow I doubt MS wants their own movie download service to take a hit like that. "Gee should I pay 400 MS points for the new Indianna Jones movie or stream it free with my Netflix account?" I just don't see that happening althou it would be awesome.

Epic win. I'm a Mac guy and I've pined many times for the ability to use Netflix streaming.

You've already been able to do this for a while if you have a Vista machine on your LAN: http://myweb.cableone.net/eluttmann04/projects/vmcNetFlix/default.htm

I have a 360, and a Live and Netflix subscription. This as a great move for Microsoft, but I don't see myself using this function very much. For one thing, the movies probably won't be in HD (I rent BD's for my PS3). And secondly, I don't watch catalog titles nearly as often as newer ones. I can see how this might be good for families, though.

I think this is a ridiculously great idea, and I hope it all works out well. I could see myself really enjoying this.

If you look at the fine print for your Netflix subscription, I think that only the $9/month plan and up are eligible for use with a 360. I have the $5/month plan myself.
