It's not often you get to see new footage of Final Fantasy XIII. But, that's exactly what we have here. Moments after announcing an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix has released a trailer that still touts its PS3 exclusivity. There's tons of new pre-rendered footage to be feast upon, and a little bit of real-time content ... and it all ends with "for PLAYSTATION 3 Only ... in Japan."

Ok can we just get over this already? It's 2008 SquareEnix. The PS1 is GONE.
I do not understand your comment. Are you trying to imply that the way of the future is last generation graphics, no cut scenes, no dialogue and no story? Obviously any comment you make refers to the Wii in one way or another so maybe you can clarify what you mean. In general, its pretty rare to see some in game footage of a hot title at E3.
I think he means with the PS1 there was a huge difference in quality between the cutseens and the real time graphics, but with the PS3/ 360 you should really be able to get anyway with using the games engine rather than using prerendered video.
Why do we need pre-rendered cut scenes?? I loved how even the N64 would run cut scenes with the in game engine (obviously due to the limited space of the carts). Thank goodness for that limited space tho, pre rendered cut scenes on the PS1 just reminded me how ugly the in game graphics were.
=p

Seriously First the Ps3 Now Old people,Children,Women and Black people,What's wrong with you?
I don't think we should talk with you anymore.
(J/K obviously seriously why he was downvoted?)
...seriously? Grow the hell up, guys. Let the poor guy be.
Face it, Fernando. We ain't gettin' love from no one but Ninty. And it's a harsh, cruel love indeed.

Also KH does seem kind of like a game suited to the wii and its market. Is there any reason that it can't/wouldn't be developed?

The fact is, the 360 will not sell in Japan because Sony is the big hawtness there. Sony is a big, well established brand and it will take more than the 360 to change that. Don't preceve their choices as some deeper meaning into the quality of the 360, it makes you look like a butthurt troll.
Surely you're not suggesting that the Xbox 360 is a victim of some sort of **gasp** xenophia on the part of the highly nationalistic Japanese populous, are you?! That's outrageous! Maybe I'm just reading too much into your comment...
You must be right and the people of Japan just hate Microsoft because its not an established brand. I hear they won't even touch Windows over there just because its not made by Japanese. Maybe the answer is even more simple than you think.
They don't like the games!
Its not like Sony is all gangbusters in Japan in relation to hardware sales especially compared to the Wii. I just think that the games on the 360 do not appeal to them. Much like many on these boards (especially today) say they would not buy a PS3 for a handful of games. The people of Japan will not buy 360's in droves just because of Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. It will always be about the games. If Microsoft had more games that appealed to the people in Japan they would sell more consoles.
I hesitate to use that word because it donates that a whole country of people are so self-centered that they are afraid of anything from a foreign country. I mean, we are talking about a country that loves crap from America. They are crazy over our music and clothes like we are crazy over their food and movies. That is just my opinion from having a few Japanese friends from college. I really should call in a favor with one of them and get some free boarding for TGS...
@John McPoop:
Ok... So, my sister likes the food at Cracker Barrel. While there, she will get some of the fudge and stuff they make too. *or they rebrand... whatever* Does that mean that if they start making a tampon she will buy that too? Windows is different from a game system. If I judged the 360 by what Windows has done, I would of never had one in the first place. It might be that there is not any games that they would like, which I don't think is true because of all the mutiplatform games this gen. Maybe you are right there, but I'm looking at it from what I've been told. They have had 2 successful consoles and they are a Japanese company. What Japanese person wouldn't want to buy one? I know that if places were reversed, Xbox was in Sony's position and Sony was in Xbox position, I'd be plopping money down on the 360 solely on reputation.
With the ramped, baseless fanboyism found on this website, is it really hard to believe that it may just be all because it's Sony?

I'm just a little confused, what is WKS? I understand that people love to bring out the lists of games they already know are going to be fantastic (like your 'untitled, unannounced, Team Ico project') but when I don't even know what the game is by its acronym, maybe you need to lay off a little.

Remember: hell has frozen over, this is all possible at this point, so i suppose it could even go to 360, DS, or PSP
Like you have any room to talk about the 360 causing delays.
You would love that wouldn't you? You are such a hater.
360 owners better hope they are making this for the 360 or they are making both version at the same time. Everyone knows the coding difference is so vast between the consoles that a quick port will always suffer a loss of quality. Burnout Paradise is a great example of how to do it correct. I suspect with this game probably being released in over a year from now they have plenty of time to make both version equal.
Where is the episodic content for GTA IV everyone was yapping about?
Because if I have to suffer through a story that was originally crafted in English for 360 version, I'm totally buying a PS3 anyways just for the "all your base"-flavored action.
Note: I recognize that Square's localization efforts are generally just fine. Just let me make my dumb jokes.

The real question is does this mean Versus is now a timed exclusive?
LOL...
I heard a disturbance in the force...as if millions of sony fanboys across the globe were utterly shocked at this recent turn of events and cried to heavens, "Why Lord Sony?"

They did it for Oblivion, you better expect that they'll do it for FF13.
