Rock Band Weekly: Best of The Who
Just to make sure, we checked with Harmonix to see if there was any other music sneaking into this week's Rock Band DLC, like what happened with Weezer and Doolittle. So, for this week, the much anticipated "best of" The Who will be available, replacing The Who's Who's Next album originally announced many, many moons ago.
The Best of The Who Rock Band Edition (1600 MS points / $20) -- All songs are also sold individually (160 MS Points / $2)
(Note: We couldn't for the life of us find the original version, so here's a Pearl Jam cover.)

Shit that's a lot of videos
My question: Will the vocalist have to stutter the lyrics for My Generation to get credit?
If not, fail.
Heh @ Jul 14th 2008 6:30PM
FUCK YEAH THE WHO
Riley @ Jul 14th 2008 6:31PM
i still would have preferred they release Who's Next
sure, we get a few awesome songs, but we lose quite a few others
whymog @ Jul 14th 2008 6:57PM
I hear ya, but it sounds like there wasn't much Harmonix could do about it. At least we got Baba O'Riley, Going Mobile and Behind Blue Eyes (as well as Won't Get Fooled Again, clearly!)

The best of the Who?
I see no Seeker or Pinball Wizard. No Substitute either.
OMGOMG @ Jul 14th 2008 6:39PM
Pinball Wizard: IN RB2.
Heh @ Jul 14th 2008 6:39PM
Pinball Wizard is confirmed for Rock Band 2's set-list.
Heh @ Jul 14th 2008 6:40PM
lol, hivemind
Matt @ Jul 14th 2008 6:43PM
Baba O'Riley just made my day.
343 Guilty Fart @ Jul 14th 2008 6:43PM
The who?
mr mobius @ Jul 14th 2008 7:04PM
Reminds me of the Aunt Slappy skit from Animaniacs where The Who are on stage. Youtube it.
me @ Jul 14th 2008 6:57PM
expensive much?
unfriendly_cat @ Jul 14th 2008 7:11PM
No.
Brent @ Jul 14th 2008 7:30PM
um, yeah.. really expensive, considering it's still 4$ off buying in bulk, and the normal prices are the same as every other RB track. hello? there still has yet to be a 3$ song too. now if GH was selling this it would be bundled with a linkin park album for 60$. The price is fine.
and: Fuck yes! The Who! Some of the funnest songs this pack will be. Can't wait! If only my pedal didn't break... duct tape.. I put my trust in you.
JJ Rooster @ Jul 14th 2008 11:55PM
Judging by your imaginative user name I'm going to guess that any task more complicated than delivering newspapers is above your skill set, and so the answer for you is a most certain "yes".
Julian @ Jul 14th 2008 10:06PM
Keith Moon's ago!

"Tell me... Who the fuck are you?"
Is that "Who Are You" lyric really gonna fly? I would assume "yes" as they allowed all of the cocaine mentions in the Grateful Dead songs, but who knows? They used the radio version of 'Creep' from Radiohead.
(Mmmm. Radiohead. I wish there was more Radiohead in Rockband.)
Honestly I was hoping for more early Who recordings, ones like "I Can See for Miles," "Kids Are Alright," "Substitute," or "I Can't Explain."
But 'Baba O'Reilly' is amazing so I can cope.
POOLSCLOSED @ Jul 15th 2008 1:25PM
No idea why they used the Live at Leeds version of My Generation. The original or another live cut would have been a lot better.
Nudgenudge @ Jul 15th 2008 5:24PM
Except that the live (and cut) version has the finish of the concert.
And quite honestly, I almost crashed my Fender on the floor at the end.... till I realized I was wielding a plastic instrument in my underwear.
Yeah, that was a harsh return to reality.
Oh, and I must mention it: "Who the hell are you?!"... Yeah, throm me off the notes a second.

Wonder if harmonix could work with EA to get the some of the traxs from Burnout Revenge on here to play - how sweet would that be ?
