Wal-Mart database shows entry for Halo "Blue"

A trusted Wal-Mart source has sent Joystiq an image taken from the company's intranet, "The Wire," showing a listing for Halo "Blue." We've also received an unverified tip detailing Halo "Blue," though it's unclear whether that information stems from the same retail listing. With so little information available about what Blue is, we're guessing the shown Sept. 30 date is placeholder. The Microsoft press conference is in less than 12 hours, so stay tuned.

I believe the Tactical Shooter Halo by Bungie will be released in 09 so this has to be a Halo 3 with future+past DLC included.

It could also be a Online Multiplayer version of Halo with more people added into the fray and some other online eccentric features?

Looks like it's something called "Tornado Halo Blue." Maybe...a holy storm bears down over ship faring minions, like... Black & White meets Pirates! meets Sim City?

This is a fake. I work at a Walmart and the release dates on The Wire only go up to the end of August. Not to mention the release date page looks nothing like this.

And I checked the supplier numbers for Microsoft and no Halo Blue is listed.

360 Exclusive?

More importantly if it is a 360 exclusive game Bungie damn well better put a whole lot of effort in that shit. And definitely make sure it look pretty as hell. At least significantly better than Halo 3 (which really wasn't a huge leap over 2).

Microsoft own the Halo series, and retain equity interest with Bungie. Even if they make another game besides Halo, it's still going to be 360 exclusive. Although they're now independent, they still basically work for Microsoft.

And can someone please explain to me what they wanted in Halo 3 to make it a huge leap over the second one? The levels were bigger, and had more action, the story was more focused, the multiplayer was actually balanced, and generally it was a much better game. Were you guys expecting it to be a Kart Racer, or something?

Halo will always be exclusive, although, I don't quite see the benefit of Bungie going independant if they still have to kiss Microsofts ass. Its like a son finally leaving thier mother's home to become independant but still relying on her to give him pocket money :S

It'll probably hit PC, but it's most likely a console exclusive to the 360.

Like snowblind said - the Halo IP is Microsofts now, no matter whether Bungie is on their own or not after leaving MS. If they want to make Halo - its for MS. They said that a long time ago. I doubt thats a problem for Bungie though, its not like they're opposed to making a lot of money and will avoid continuing the series just because can't make the game for the PS3 or Wii.

It really doesn't matter how much Bungie put into the game, there would still be people going, "LOL IT'S HALOZ 2.5 LOL LOL!!!
