Man, I am glad their forums are closed. They are bad enough during the regular hours...imagine "TEH ROIT" this would cause...or will once they open back up.

i think that the publisher is microsoft I read an article on gameinformer that said that microsoft owned the IP for halo(dont ask me what IP means) so this means that it has to involve halo, maybe halo 4 or on the last weekly update the said that something really big was going to happend to the halo 3 matchmaking experience. so 80% is going to be about halo 3 and 20% about halo (halo 4, halo "blue")

Anyone else notice this happened around the time the Sony press conference ended? Methinks this announcement would have proceeded any Ace Sony had up its sleeve (which it didn't).

I sincerely hope that this is just a way to draw more attention and that they're still going to announce something. E3 has been a little sad this year.

with so many AAA titles coming soon across all platforms (especially the PC) and the mediocrity that was Halo 3, i honestly couldn't care any less about whatever Bungie has planned...

not saying it's gonna be horrible, whatever they have planned, just saying they don't command anywhere near the same amount of attention they once did.

Of course the publisher is MS. Bungie announced this a while back. They're not really independent as long as their publisher calls the shots like this. And they also do not own the Halo IP, MS owns that, so for anything Halo-related, MS has all the final say.

If MS jerked Bungie here, I feel a bit sorry for them. Only a bit because they did sell to MS in the first place, so to even get back as much control as they did is soemthing. But honestly, I think it's just a ploy.

There's no doubt in my mind that Halo 4 is coming and MS is going to publish it, but i wonder why put up so much hype toward the announcement and then just pull it. Could it be that maybe they didn't want to ruin other games hype like Gears of War 2, fable 2 and resident evil 5.

Nobody remembers the "phew, we finished Halo 3. The next cool thing would be a Lego Halo Trilogy, The whole story in one game"-comment from Bungie? No?
