Naa man, im still sticking with the fact that microsoft's biggest announcement was getting a game Sony already had. And all there "new" titles were just remakes of existing IP's Lips=~SingStar, Avatars=~Mii & Home Avatars, optimised interface=~fixing something. Sony takes the cake just for announcing something new that people dont already have.

Lips /=/ Singstar. Last i checked, you can't hook up your iPod/Zune to the PS3 and use your own songs in Singstar. Sure, MS shot themself as far as DLC in that factor, but that's a GOOD thing for the consumer.

While the new interface does fix the Dashboard, it also incorporates many more features [party system mainly] that can broaden the spectrum of how games are played. Sure, call it a home ripoff, because it basically is without the massive 3d world, but Sony took too long to punch and now Microsoft took the bait and beat them to the idea. Plus, 8-person movie watching sessions over live = great.

What did Sony show me that i haven't seen before? MAG? That'll never work.. 256 people playing what is basically a PlanetSide clone with pretty graphics on a console = LAG. Plus you'll never get the entire team of 128 to work together as a whole, there's always gonna be the few that ruin it for everyone. DC Online MMO? I don't think they caught the subtext that it's also gonna be on PC. Resistance 2 looks impressive, as does LittleBigPlanet, as does the PSP and PSN store lineup, but i don't see any other BIG titles that are gonna wow me.

You guys are looking at this the wrong way. Microsoft won E3 because of this.

Almost every game they showed was PLAYABLE.

They played, Fallout, Gears, Lips, at the movies. They showed the new xbl in action. They showed gameplay of Banjo. The whole bit. And then at the end...FF13.

Now some say, "who cares there stealing a sony masterpiece." Lets be real. FF started with nintendo then jumped to Sony. And now there sharing main branch with microsoft. This says a few things.

1) The white engine is easily portable to Xbox which shots down sony's claims that only THEY can do FF
2) That Square sees the xbox as a profitable platform. Is this because of how much money it cost to make games now? Or because they don't make enough sales from just sony.

Yea FF13 will be on xbox only in Us and Eu...but wait those are THE xbox markets. So its still a win. Sony for the first time ever is having to rely totally on 1st party and 2nd party titles because ms has been snatching up the third parties.

This generation of games is Zelda/Mario vs Gears/Halo and GoW/Resistance.

And that is an ugly fight.

alot of people care.
It would be the same if sony had "purchased"
the next halo from under MS to be multiplat.
Or MS buying zelda or mario. most wouldnt be happy.

It's not the fact that its getting shared but When I think about FF i think of playstation. I was never into
the older ff games on NES but i do remember FFVII and everything that followed being on Playstation.

I dont see how MS "won" aside from them showing gears2 wich looks really cool but seems a little cluttered to me. too much stuff going on at once. and basically saying FFXII is going to be ported to the 360. cuz thats what there doing.... porting it. they will finish the ps3 version then work on porting it. so it might be dumbed down a bit. who knows. Nintendo's presentation was ok..... what else was expected? i didnt think there would be anythin major from them.

Hey I gotta question how come they ain't show Borderlands but yet they show a bummy 007 thing?

Also Nintendo what happened Conduit?

I need answers.

This is what got me mad about the conference from Sony.
No Littlebigplanet demo'd onstage.
Killzone 2 wait where the fuck was tat at they better have some super secret details that will make even MS cry at PAX or GC.
Resistance do I actually have to go into the fact that we saw barely anything not even an online demo or a little of this superb 8 man seperate story online co op.

Also pretty much Sony kinda gonna get more money out of me cause i'm definitely buying a 500 dollar 80GB(selling the 40Gb but thats after the summer).

Wow FMV/CGI trailer after another. Reminds me of the KillZone2 trailer from a couple years ago.

Waaay too long in general. It was rather boring, and not enough excitement, despite the fact they actually announced some good stuff.

I think Microsoft is the clear "winner" this year, even if they didn't really announce many new games, I like how they focused on THIS years content, rather than what will be happeneing next year, and that's a complaint I've had with Sony's E3 showings for the past couple of years.

Once again, I expect people to use the argument that "Microsoft just have nothing for next year" but that was said last year, and the year before, and thus far they've managed to have some really amazing line ups, particularly heading up to Christmas.

..And, I don't think I need say anything about Nintendo's showing.

Nothing as big of a visceral "HOLY SHIT" moment like MS, but really look at the content and I think you'll see that this was a substantively better keynote. But that's just my opinion, I guess.

- PS3-PSP integration is being driven even further
- fully-fledged TV and movie downloads (this one is catch-up with XBL, admittedly)
- really cool looking exclusives, both full PS3 and PSN (seriously, tho Infamous looks sweet)
- $399 80GB PS3
- Home looking solid and on track, Life with PlayStation
- That car show might be seriously cool for those of us who are gearheads
- DC Universe seems kinda cool (haven't seen video yet, tho, so I'll reserve judgment).
- etc.

In any case, new features, good (exclusive) games and better media choices across the entire Sony gaming universe. I'm not sure what else you guys wanted. *shrug*

Oh, that's right. A "HOLY SHIT" moment (Halo 4 exclusively on PS3! ;P). I do have to admit that that wouldn't have hurt.

Oh yeah as dumb as this sounds Microsoft,Sony and Nintendo (Especially Nintendo) have negative points for not Having Diablo 3 in their consoles or showing a Valve game.

Are any of Sony's "announced" game titles even going to be coming out in 2008? I mean, seriously, how much longer do we have to wait for titles we've heard about or knew were coming out for so long?

And before you go and say, "Well, FF13 is going to take forever for 360 too you Microsoft fanboy".... let me remind you that they debuted games that will be coming out this year. Personally, Fable2 is what I'm excited for.

I'll take awesome games coming out this year over "showing new exclusive games" that won't come out until next year or later. Microsoft won E3.

You guys are seriously ridiculous. MS's show was basically a reactionary type of show with almost every announcement a reaction to the competition be it the avatars or ff13. FF13 is important and a huge bombshell, but its still coming to the ps3. Most of the games they showed in fact are coming to the ps3 except gears2 (which looked good). Sony showed the most new games on all of its platforms (some of those were TEASER trailers, not target renders or all that bullshit some xbots are spouting). they also showed a great video service and new bundles. overall it was a good press conference. id give the number one conference to either sony or ms(ONLY for ff13, other than that it was just a solid conference). Nintendo was just epic fail

Fable II, Gears of War II, Portal: Still Alive, Last Remnant, is that enough stuff that isn't reactionary?

They could have PLAYED a 1/2 hour of Little Big Planet and 3-5 minutes of everything else - minimized the trailers/talk/business - given a release date for God of War 3 - and I would have been more than happy. The games that sold me the system are MGS4, Heavenly Sword (I liked it anyway), EoJ, LBP, GoW3 and formally FF13.
I do like the integration between the PS3/PSP but am way more interested in games. I'm not a fanboy of any system but as of now continue to be more excited about 360 games in general.
I too was very disappointed in the Nintendo conference.

I have to say, that all of these Press Conferences were lousy. None of them had anything that was a shocker aside from the FFXIII going to the 360, which in my opinion isn't a big deal to half of the people on here, because well how many people play RPGs now compared to FPS and TPS.

Microsoft showed us good Fall games, but we all knew about them.

I honestly think, that Sony did a decent job, after that blow on their exclusivity. They held on and showed that they have some still in there, and they are joining in on the downloadable realm, which movies NOW and some really cool looking games. Hopefully they do well on their promises and not only have exclusives but good exclusives.

And Nintendo.... well Nintendo hopefully shows something at TGS.
