Other than a new animal crossing and GTA for handhelds, there was little of interest here. Yeah, nice they are making the wiimote better, but thats not too interesting. Besides, the mic...thats not exactly earth shattering this far into the online gaming scene.

Yeah, for sure this beats the MIcrosoft press conference. Who needs FF-whatever; we have Wii Music. Look how much fun that looks. Huh, guys?

Hear that?

that's the sound of one Wii Remote making the "brown noise" in WII MUSIC! 'Cause you know that's all people will do!

No mention of WiiWare? Not a warm fuzzy feeling for their commitment to the project or the indie devs.

I know I'm not alone in this... but what a HUGE disappointment. Nintendo didn't even reveal ONE non-casual first party game. Not a mario. Not a Zelda. Not a Star Fox.

Instead we get endless more peripherals to plug in and store... and a microphone for the Wii you'll likely need dozens of friend codes just to use.

That's okay though. Because all I really wanted was for them to address the Wii storage issue - and its for that reason that I am most disappointed. I was simply SURE that they would answer that problem for us...

Does anyone else feel that despite Nintendo's promise not to forget the core gamer that we've been disregarded so everyone can swing remotes wildly in the air and magically make great music?

Well you can blow into it, but it doesn't really do anything.

But it doesn't look like pressing buttons does very much either, so you might as well just blow. It'll be more realistic.

ATTN: This year was the announcement of Wii MotionPlus. Next year, after it launches, the good hardcore games will be announced and they will need the MP. Kid Icarus and the next Zelda will need the 1:1 control.

Actually, I'd say Microsoft put out one of their strongest. Forgetting the leaks, they announced a hell of a lot of exciting stuff.

I don't consider the FFXIII coup much of one. It's more just smart business for Square-Enix (IF it had been launched in Japan on the 360 THEN it would have been a coup), but it's still cool assuming it's a fast and good port. And then the full game installs are a nice addition too, but you still have to use their overpriced hard drives which to me, negates the benefit a little bit. Everything else was meh, for me considering it was more updating than groundbreaking. So, yes Microsoft certainly did have a good conference, but stellar? Only when compared to its competition.

And they'll still sell a bazillion consoles, because only gamers care about E3, and the Wii's audience isn't gamers.

man, nintendo is 1-2 over the last 3 e3's.

wii music? it sounds like a clusterfuck of cheap casio sounds.

although animal crossing will be cool, it has be speculated for months (years?) now.

where's the big suprise?

i think the ff13 bomb raised everyones e3 expectations for blockbuster announcements this year.

The same way that American Idol garners 30 million viewers while Firefly barely grabs 0.3 million and the same way that Transformers: The Videogame sells as many copies as MGS4.

Oh, stop the hate. I can't stand fanboys.

This was a lame showing, agreed. But the Wii is a great console that has done a lot for gaming. Doesn't make it better or worse than the 360 proudly sitting next to it (I love them both), but I don't think any serious fan of video games could go this generation without one.
