highlights?
Failoan @ Jul 15th 2008 1:23PM
Yea I gotta agree with you riggs, that was pretty dull...
Jomolungma @ Jul 15th 2008 1:28PM
Maybe they gave out free copies of the kids mag?
Duke @ Jul 15th 2008 1:36PM
Other than a new animal crossing and GTA for handhelds, there was little of interest here. Yeah, nice they are making the wiimote better, but thats not too interesting. Besides, the mic...thats not exactly earth shattering this far into the online gaming scene.
Supino @ Jul 15th 2008 1:38PM
Hey! Ross Miller
Add Wii-Mote 2.. that was the biggest "highlight"
Jagzi11a @ Jul 15th 2008 1:44PM
wow, i can't wait for people's eyes to open so they can see the own a gamecube with a novelty controller. way to keep coming out with first party games. I will admit I love animal crossing and GTA looks sweet.
chris.husmann @ Jul 15th 2008 1:22PM
i love nintendo, but that was a weak conference at best
Nigeria: SSBB: 0731-6347-2110 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:22PM
Yeah, for sure this beats the MIcrosoft press conference. Who needs FF-whatever; we have Wii Music. Look how much fun that looks. Huh, guys?
FOXHOUND @ Jul 15th 2008 1:25PM
Hear that?
that's the sound of one Wii Remote making the "brown noise" in WII MUSIC! 'Cause you know that's all people will do!
rvkremer @ Jul 15th 2008 1:25PM
No mention of WiiWare? Not a warm fuzzy feeling for their commitment to the project or the indie devs.
Ubercharged @ Jul 15th 2008 1:27PM
Wow, i actually forgot all about wii ware until i read your comment.... maybe nintendo did too?
Slize Kalfer @ Jul 16th 2008 12:06AM
I believe Iwata MENTIONED wii ware, though it sounded like wiiver but I am pretty sure he at least MENTIONED it
gs942002 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:25PM
Frickin' piss me off! Nothing about Kid Icarus or a new Zelda or anything for the core gamers that reggie promised! rip off!!!
dabamf @ Jul 15th 2008 1:29PM
Dude, you're forgetting the fact that you can blow into the Wiimote to make music! That's HARDCORE!!!
gs942002 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:37PM
you don't blow into it.
bkirst90 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:45PM
Well you can blow into it, but it doesn't really do anything.
But it doesn't look like pressing buttons does very much either, so you might as well just blow. It'll be more realistic.
eNrique @ Jul 15th 2008 2:03PM
i guess/hope they will be making some last day announcements, like when they revealed the 1st trailer for Twilight Princess
SKI @ Jul 15th 2008 4:07PM
ATTN: This year was the announcement of Wii MotionPlus. Next year, after it launches, the good hardcore games will be announced and they will need the MP. Kid Icarus and the next Zelda will need the 1:1 control.
Live in 3D @ Jul 15th 2008 4:44PM
You only PRETEND to blow in it. Much more fun
The Fatass of Kickassness @ Jul 15th 2008 1:25PM
God, that was a truly terrible conference. Announced some cool stuff, but the rest was crushing disappointment.
samfish @ Jul 15th 2008 1:35PM
My sentiments exactly.
gs942002 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:38PM
totally frickin' agree
DangerMouse @ Jul 15th 2008 1:45PM
Lol, that was it? thank god i didn't bother watching it. I hope they've got something else, because that's pathetic.
Mr Khan @ Jul 15th 2008 2:20PM
Bingo
A few cool announcements (indeed, one greatly redeeming one) that were covered up by the masses of fail all about
Ubercharged @ Jul 15th 2008 1:26PM
Yeah, I don't think I'll be picking up a wii anytime soon.
Derick @ Jul 15th 2008 1:26PM
They all look like idiots and I'm glad I jumped ship.
Zelda would have been the only thing that would bring me back to the Wii.
arrrgh @ Jul 15th 2008 1:33PM
dont let the door hit your ass on the way out
Derick @ Jul 16th 2008 12:32AM
Nintendo's doors are kid friendly.
mwatcher @ Jul 15th 2008 1:26PM
That was a pathetic conference. Where are the hardcore games???
Jayslacks @ Jul 15th 2008 1:26PM
Fuck! Nintendo Sucks!
Massmass @ Jul 15th 2008 1:27PM
Unless Sony does something CrAzY! this will have to be the weakest conference ever for all companies involved.
Benny @ Jul 15th 2008 1:52PM
Actually, I'd say Microsoft put out one of their strongest. Forgetting the leaks, they announced a hell of a lot of exciting stuff.
Massmass @ Jul 15th 2008 3:01PM
I don't consider the FFXIII coup much of one. It's more just smart business for Square-Enix (IF it had been launched in Japan on the 360 THEN it would have been a coup), but it's still cool assuming it's a fast and good port. And then the full game installs are a nice addition too, but you still have to use their overpriced hard drives which to me, negates the benefit a little bit. Everything else was meh, for me considering it was more updating than groundbreaking. So, yes Microsoft certainly did have a good conference, but stellar? Only when compared to its competition.
Fr4gmented @ Jul 15th 2008 1:27PM
I thought there was going to be a big announcement at the end...but that didn't happen.
Shadow Hog @ Jul 15th 2008 1:27PM
Honestly, the only highlights that there were were the mic and GTA:DS, only the former of which got much elaboration at all. And I guess Animal Crossing, seeing as although I never really cared for it, I can recgonize that it's pretty good.
Wii Sports 2 looked okay, but nothing amazing.
And... no games announced otherwise. WTF, Nintendo? Wario and AC do not a Christmas lineup make.
crazyyellowguy @ Jul 15th 2008 1:27PM
darn it.. I kept expecting Nintendo to stop the crowd as they were leaving and tell them that they forgot to mention zelda/kirby/kid icarus/any other "hardcore" game.
Zachary Hinchliffe @ Jul 15th 2008 1:27PM
This conference killed my inner child. The one who loved Nintendo.
gs942002 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:42PM
hahahaha same here! I was expecting when it got dark for the lights to flash on and they say," oh yeah we also have..."
eilegz @ Jul 15th 2008 2:20PM
agree, be a nintendo fan right now means = casual n00bs sad but so true
Mamba @ Jul 15th 2008 1:28PM
epic fail nintendo
Mamba @ Jul 15th 2008 1:28PM
that dance at the end didnt help the fail
Alzheimers @ Jul 15th 2008 1:46PM
It certainly helped the fail.
It added "EPIC" before it.
131172 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:28PM
They could at least demo the new Wiimote Motionplus on the stage.
riggs @ Jul 15th 2008 1:37PM
they did, with the frisbii game
RolexDPracer @ Jul 15th 2008 1:29PM
Was it just me, or did that Wii Music demonstration sound like a drunken carny funeral dirge? I know Nintendo is making money hand over foot, but there lack of "core" games is disappointing.
Vcize @ Jul 15th 2008 1:29PM
And they'll still sell a bazillion consoles, because only gamers care about E3, and the Wii's audience isn't gamers.
Mamba @ Jul 15th 2008 1:38PM
audience consists of just cheap people and soccer moms
embassy @ Jul 15th 2008 1:29PM
man, nintendo is 1-2 over the last 3 e3's.
wii music? it sounds like a clusterfuck of cheap casio sounds.
although animal crossing will be cool, it has be speculated for months (years?) now.
where's the big suprise?
i think the ff13 bomb raised everyones e3 expectations for blockbuster announcements this year.
Neil @ Jul 15th 2008 1:29PM
Overall very boring....not much to get hyped about at all.
crazyyellowguy @ Jul 15th 2008 1:29PM
darn it.. I kept expecting Nintendo to stop the crowd as they were leaving and tell them that they forgot to mention zelda/kirby/kid icarus/any other "hardcore" game.
