Nah, Microsoft still won because of the FFXIII announcement. Sony could win if Bungie's announcement tomorrow has to do with the PS3 or PSP, though.

I don't think anything Sony showed off really competes with the hands-on demo of Fallout 3. Resistance compares favorably with Gears of War, and the Home delays are turning it into a debacle of DukeNukean proportions.

Oh, and 85 movies for download != Netflix.

Now that Nintendo is officially dead to me this E3 is really a tie with M$ and Sony. But IMO it really comes down to what Bungie announces tomorrow.

@Anticrawl:
I've been hearing that from a good amount of people and after seeing the later half of Sony's conference I believe it.

Anyone know where I can find the press conferences for download?

Not bad but not even close to MS conference. IMO MS is easly nr 1 Sony easliy nr 2 and Nintendo is the BIG looser here. I really hope you guys at Joystiq confronts Nintendo about this useless show they had. And don't accept any lame excuses like "but u got animal crossing!!"...

Oh well let's see what the rest of E3 has to offer us now.

Well they announced a couple of cool things but I was kind of disappointed overall. Just recently purchased a PS3, mainly for bluray and I have to say that I'm much more excited about what 360 is bringing in the last half of the year that PS3.
That's not to say I'm not excited about LBP and Resistance 2 but everything else just doesn't interest me that much.

I own a Wii too but after seeing that debaucle of a press conference from earlier I'm questioning whether or not I should use it as an oversized paperweight from no on.

So are you bummed that you could have waited and got an extra 40GB (the new 80GB coming out)? I assume you bought the 40GB version.

haha, not really. I got my PS3 2 months used off ebay for 299 with 4 games and a couple blurays. If I need to upgrade the harddrive I'll do it myself for alot cheaper than 100 bucks!

Is the 80gb "Core" unit just the 40gb with a bigger harddrive?

Nintendo's showing was poor, but, in a way, I think it shows how out of touch most of the "hardcore" gamers truly are. Do we really matter that much, anymore?

Microsoft's showing was lauded for being spectacular due to getting a simultaneous release for FF13, but I'm sure if you hand most non-gamers a Final Fantasy game, especially the latter ones, and they'd look at you with sheer befuddlement. It's an old style, overly complicated, game that will appeal to a vocal minority. We've got to face facts: we do not speak for the gaming community, we probably never did. And minus the FF announcement, Microsoft's showing would have been just as lacklustre as Nintendo's, in my opinion.

I don't know, maybe I'm rambling. All I know is that Sega strictly pursued the hardcore market and now they're dead.

At least it was better than Nintendo's train wreck. I thought Sony would have more than just trailers again. Little Big Planet looked cool; but I'm not sure if building my own levels is something I really want to put the time into.

I had the same feeling about echochrome, but there are enough crazy shut ins around the world with mad level building skills that there should be plenty of content, even if you choose not to make any.

Count me in on LBP free content leeching!

I'm not exactly impressed with any of them, but it comes to something when the only thing worth talking about at your event was a port of another system's game.

A bombshell, sure. But once the dust clears you have to realize that it is simply a PORT.

The actual show had best impress me or I'm going to end up "regressing" back into handhelds like I did from 2003 until the release of RE4.

Not a lot of highlights but here goes...

Definitely tied with Nintendo...that was pretty shitty indeed. Only thing I thought was worth mentioning was God of War 3 and the MMO comic book game. Thanks sony....

So I guess the mantra for all the arrogant sony fanboys is now, "Just wait till God of War 3!"

But God of War 3 is sometime in 2009 and 2008 is the year of Playstation.

So it can't be that, the wait is too long.

I've never understood the whole "year of the playstation" thing...the year is more than halfway over and MGS4 was the only big this so far. Sure later in the year we've got LBP and Resistance 2, but so far it looks like my 360 will be getting more playtime with Gears 2 andddd...I totally just went blank on whatever else is coming out to the 360 haha.

@ CTC

You mentioned eariler in a reply to another poster that "no one in their right mind would buy" any of the games that Nintendo mentioned during their showing...

Well do you now claim to represent everybody and everyone on the planet?

Must have missed the memo on that one. Once again you sony fanboys don't represent everyone. And a game you may not like may be liked by someone else. And chances are there are more people who will buy Wii Music than R2.

But w/e you want to believe. If you want to ASSume that nobody found anything interesting in the Nintendo conference then that's your prerogative.

I personally found both Nintendo and sony's to be lackluster and ultimately boring.

Sure, it's only Tuesday, and we've got the rest of the week, but this E3 is really sucking.

All three of the big three press conferences were made of varying degrees of fail. Microsoft was the only one that actually had anything big and unexpected, with the announcement of FFXIII on 360.

No real-time KillZone stage demo, no real-time LBP stage demo, no real-time SOCOM demo?!?! Come on, Sony! What the Hell kind of press event what that?

At least Microsoft knows how to rally the fanboys into frenzy with demos and major bombshells.

Sony just sort of sits there waving a little plastic flag, saying 'yea, us'.

No real-time LBP demo? What were you watching :S

i swear they showed the marketing stats with LBP, thats real-time and LBP.

1. - Sony (Great E3!)
2. - Nintendo (Severely poor)
3. - Micro$oft (You've ruined your console with Dashboard 2.0)

Out.
