Actually, I watch all 3 keynotes again (recorded in PVR), and honestly, beside the FF13 bombshell with Microsoft, they really do not have anything innovative to show. Avatars = Mii, the Netflix movie, how often are you going use that? Beside Gears of Wars 2, most of the games they showed are multiplatform games. Seriously, the most innovative games they showed are the Live Arcade games and Lips.

I'm not saying Nintendo and Sony's press conference are much better. When it comes to new stuff, Nintendo showed the most. Sony showed the most exclusive games. I'd say it's somewhat a tie for all 3 companies... Nintendo showed the most innovation, Sony showed that they can produce good first party games, Microsoft showed what they do best, spend lots of money to get developers release games on their system as well. Overall, all 3 companies could have announce all these on a regular press release, and use the money spend on these keynotes on something better, like developing new games.

There was Fable 2, Gears 2, and Infinite Undiscovery was flashed on the screen during Squeenix's presentation as "Exclusively on Xbox 360". It also looked like The Last Remnant may be exclusive at least for awhile. So there are actually 4 exclusives right there. At least it's not stuff we've been hearing about for the last 2 years, unlike all the stuff we heard at the Sony speech.

In fact, the things at Sony's keynote that most interested me were all the PSP games. At the end of the keynote, my first thought was "Where's the big surprise announcement at the end?" When that didn't come, I thought "Hm, I think I might want a PSP now!!" There are some good hard core games coming out for that thing!

In all honesty, none of the presentations were "awesome", but I gave the nod to Microsoft. First, for having a great line-up THIS YEAR. Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, and a slew of RPGs. The re-worked dashboard should be nice, but none of us will really know for sure until we get to try it out. The FFXIII announcement was a big deal for 360 owners. I own a PS3 and 360 so it wasn't a big deal for me, but still cool to see.

The PS3 presentation almost entirely bored me to be honest. I have to give a nod to MAG though. 256 players sounds insane...in a good way if they can pull it off. Though I had to laugh out loud at the very though of the words "massive action" (see - "massive damage") being spoken at a Sony conference again. Brought back the ol' giant crabs memories for me.

I'd say the biggest announcement goes to MS for FF13 but the overall show goes to Sony because they gave me the most to look forward to with MAG, GOW3, RFOM2, KZ2 and LBP and that doesn't leave anything for Nintendo who looked like they were having fun playing their casual games but didn't really do anything to get me excited or address any issues of Wii storage or the successor or redesign of the DS. Don't get me wrong, Sony didn't by any means steal the show as this was the most dissapointing E3s in a very long time, I think Sony just did a little more to show us what we wanted to see. No argument the the 1 thing i'd take away overall still goes to MS but I don't think its as big a deal is everyone is making it out to be and things will settle down when the shock gets old, but its great for 360 owners while is a kick in the pants to the people that bought a PS3 just for SE RPGs.

"MAG, GOW3, RFOM2, KZ2 and LBP"

3 shooters(1 showing no actual real time footage), a "platformer" and God of War impressed you more than Microsoft's and Nintendo's conference?

Hey, whatever floats your boat

As much as I love Nintendo, I was very disappointed in their conference. Yeah it had a few nice tidbits (AC:City Folk, MotionPlus, GTA:Chinatown Wars, and Wii Sports Resort), but none of the first party titles were actually hardcore. Why the hell did they consider the release of the next Pokemon Ranger as a big thing?

Honestly, the conferences were all pretty disappointing this year, but even still, I voted for Microsoft. Clown pants and Duffy aside.

Sony's conference was boring, it was just him talking about stuff we already knew... and more SKU's. GOW3 was obvious since GOW2, DC Online was known already and so were Loco Roco 2, Resistance 2, infamous, and Patapon 2. The only new stuff was Resistance PSP and MAG, and they were like (for me) "oh, ok... cool".

Nintendo's was sooo lame, I was like hurry up with the games. Then their 3 "big wii games" turned out to be 3 already known, uninteresting 3rd party games. Then they go, "look animal crossing", I liked that part, but I wanted more.

Microsofts conference was good, I really liked it. They mixed playable demos, new dash updates (i like the look and the avatars) and showed some new casual games (some look fun). They dated Banjo 3 and announced Banjo 1 for Arcade, not to mention Portal for arcade too. Then they had a solid date for Last Remnant and a season for SO4... and of course FF13. So overall I liked the MS conference the best because it gave me what I wanted.

So I voted for MS, even though Animal Crossing Wii is on the top of my list.

Microsoft's guy got all giddy at FFXIII. I think he's gay. lol. If he measures losing exclusives as the reason behind why the PS3 will fail then guess what? Yes, Sony lost DMC4, GTAIV, FFXIII, and.... wait. I think that's it. Fill in with your replies please. But I can off the top of my head count off so many more exclusives Microsoft lost: Condemned, Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden, Lost Planet, Top Spin. And now Bungie, quite frankly the only dev that made anything worthwhile for the brick-box, is out on its own, free to roam the wild. Mass Effect 2 might go multi-platform (if you don't already consider the PC versions multi-platform, in which case you could add a couple more to the list like Gears of War and Halo). Okay, that guy in charge of Xbox might not be gay but his giddiness just illustrates how insecure Microsoft seems be when it comes to the console war; jumping way to eagerly on every bit of ammunition, resorting so quickly to trash talking. I just don't like Microsoft. I just don't. And apparently Bill Gates doesn't either. http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/microsoft/archives/141821.asp

i voted Sony.

only thing MS really had was the FFXIII bitch slap. other than that, they just said stuff we pretty much knew and added a dashboard update they probably should have done last spring. and Lips and Avatars are just catchup ploys.

Sony showed me everything i wanted to see and more. my heart was stolen after that bitch slap but Sony certainly restored my faith.

im still probably getting a 360 though for all those other juicy JRPG's they are getting though.....yea, buying an Xbox for JRPG's.....never thought i'd see the day.

Yet you made mention of none of those amazing things. Only what MS announced. See the problem with that? You can tell the truth about the show and still be a Sony fan you know.

The reason Nintendo will not win again next year either in this category is because (seriously) they have a last gen system, not a current gen system. All they can rely on is gimics, and the biggest one they had they showed us at launch (waggle the Wiimote). And before you throw giant Mario fireballs at me I own a Wii too.

All just my opinion of course. But, the 360 and PS3 are lightyears ahead of the Wii in technology.

As an investor, I was most impressed by nintendo. They might actually be able to keep this momentum going and they're making amazing profits, especially for a video game company.

As a gamer I was severely underwhelmed by all three KNs. Each company had one game that made me think, I want to try that(not, I HAVE TO try that): Gears2, LittleBigPlanet, Wii Music (finally a music game that wont clutter; but it was the tyko drum that did it for me).

I don't know what show you watched but Sony had several demos including Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, and several others. I don't even want to get started with MAG. It sounds to me like the only system you have is a 360. I have every system that is out, so I don't have to leave uneducated posts on blogs. The only news Microsoft had was that they were getting a game that was already coming out on PS3 and that they were copying Nintendo's Mii idea. Who cares that you can download movies to your 360 when you could have been doing it for years on your PC. It looks like you are the one that needs to go out and get some more systems so you can enjoy all of the great games that will be coming out on other consoles.

I hope you aren't really as old as you say considering that you haven't learned how to type proper grammer or how to not use the CAPS LOCK button. How can Sony and Nintendo have no games when you consider that Nintendo had the best game of the year for 2007. Almost every video game reviewer gave Super Mario Galaxy the game of the year award. Metal Gear Solid 4 is already set to be the game of the year for 2008 and they are both hardcore games.
I also can't believe that you consider yourself a hardcore gamer when you only have one system. True hardcore gamers don't limit themselves to only being able to play games on one system. You miss out on experiencing what each system has to offer.
I'm also tired of people saying that PSN sucks. After trophies were updated into the system and after Home launches, what will Xbox Live have as an advantage? If you actually had more than one system you wouldn't be so biased towards Sony and Nintendo and your argument would probably make more sense.

I would hands down say Microsoft. Alot of the presenters where a bit stiff and boring at times but it was more the quality of everything they had talked about that made it something to be impressed with. Nintendo did the Nintendo thing and just showed off more of a casual side of gaming again with no real push to hardcore gamers. Sony on the other hand just didnt have that WOW fact like they did in previous years. I did like the use of Little Big Planet as a presentation but it really did I'd rather they concentrate more on actual games than just presentations. To many videos on developers "drinking the kool-aid". I would have like to have heard more about HOME, the Trophy system, or just some mind blowing new announcement.

Why did everyone vote for Microsoft? They copied Nintendo's Wii and said that we can pay for Netflix and order movies. What is so great about that? Nintendo is the only one that further revolutionized how we can play games. Who never wanted to have a virtual sword/lightsaber fight that was as realistic as the Wii Motionplus.

Sony 35.2% ? WOW

This reminds me of the penny arcade comic which showed one of the sony execs pissing on the crowd as they cheered for more.

I guess when you pay 600$ for a system with 2 good games you have to validate the money spent somehow right?

I voted Sony, really. Even as one of the most loyal Nintendo fans around here (never had a non-Nintendo console, and probably won't until they ever decide to stop makin' 'em), that conference was sad, especially since they didn't even really address the sum of what they're doing. No mention of WiiWare, no mention of many first-party titles we already know of, no mention of a lot of satisfying 3rd-party stuff that we also know of. They tailored that conference square on the casuals, and everyone knows it

Microsoft's was ok, one earth-shaking megaton (which blew me away as well as others) doesn't push it ahead of Sony, which really put up a lot of impressive stuff across the board.

I voted for Sony, not just because I own a PS3, and not because I really despise Microsoft, but because they have a lot more to offer in the coming year. LBP and Resistance 2 are coming out this fall, as well as GoW3 sometime in the near future. MS has Gears 2 and Fable 2? That's about all I heard that was really new. FFXIII shouldn't make a real impact with them, it should stay in the PS3 favor. Not to mention Sony is gaining quickly on XBOX Live in users and content, as well as trophies.

Sony had more to offer than MS.

Why did they even bothered being in this year's E3, when they had nothing to show, or offer, to the gamers--especially those people who plays their games. And Sony? not good enough, either! Microsoft had the BEST show this year--everybody who was there knows it, no doubt about it!"
