Nintendo's showing blew my mind, and not in a good way. I cant beleave that was it.

I dont mind them focusing on their new market, but could they at least have thrown their traditional fanbase a bone?.. a tiny little bone?.. Anything at all?

Can't believe they didn't talk about Chrono and MM9, that would at least filled a little void in the hardcore.

I find it odd how people continue to be shocked when this is pretty much the way they play things event after event.

They are happy they are moving those 200K units a week. Well, in time everyone in the casual market will get their Wii, and they may even pick up Wii Fit.

Then your cash cow is gone...and what do you have left? An upset hardcore community that would help you create continued profit if only you would have acknowledged they were even in the room.

I've never understood how the Nintendo Fanboy base could continue the years of blind faith when they have pretty much acted the same way system after system.

The Wii is different. the Wii is worse. And the Wii is selling like crazy. Not a good day to be a videogame fan.

Because they've continued to deliver?

Look at GC, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, the closest thing to an open world Zelda, an FPS Metroid, the return of Fire Emblem to consoles

Then with Wii: Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Wii, a goddamn 2D, side-scrolling Wario Land with hand-drawn art, helping in the distribution of the next Fatal Frame

Though that sad attempt at an E3 show would convince people otherwise, they're still delivering the goods

Sorry Khan, but when you say "delivering" You imply present tense, most the games you mentioned are pretty old. and Nintendo's didn't exactly make Fatal Frame, if you catch my drift.

All that really leaves is "a goddamn 2D, side-scrolling Wario Land with hand-drawn art" which they failed to even mention.

Have you even stopped to consider the long term (negative) effects this casual-mania will have on the industry, and video games' potential as a medium of art? or are you too amazed by the 1:1 frizbee game (it's cheaper and easier to buy a freaking real frizbee).

Kahn,

I see where you are coming from, but you have to start showing that you are at least THINKING about your next big title.

And there is my point. It just feels like they have played all their big cards up front and it's still early in the Wii's lifespan. Do they fear the tide turning like it has too many times before? No Mario, no Zelda, no Metroid. No games that the hardcore want.

It just feels like they are too used to not leading the game market like they did with the NES. So they are happy about supplying a game system everyone loves but then offer very little to keep generating income from those who have already made the Wii purchase.

What are you guys talking about?

Microsoft has 11 things crossed out [with the addition of 'New SKU'].

Nintendo was slightly disappointing. Nothing OMGWTFBBQ?!!!

I still have not seen anything from Sony yet, but to me, it is going to look something like this.

1 - MICROSOFT
2 - Sony
3 - Xbox LIVE
4 - Final Fantasy XII on 360
5 - Netflix
6 - Nintendo

Is anyone else just totally unhappy with E3 so far this year. Microsoft's press conference wasn't that great(just couple of neat features but hardly any new games announced) and Nintendo's was just a total kick in the groin. I'm pissed.

Just a few games? After watching Microsoft's E3 Press Conference, I was expecting huge stuff from Nintendo.

Let's see Microsoft.
~ Fallout 3
~ Gears of War 2
~ Fable II
~ Guarantee to sell more than PS3
~ Teamed up with NBC, Sci-Fi, and USA to bring content.
~ Complete New Dashboard
~ Avatars
~ Photosharing, watching movies, and 8 player group chat
~ Xbox LIVE Primetime
~ Netflix Partnership
~ Scene It: Box Office Smash
~ Your in the Movies
~ LIPS
~ Final Fantasy XIII coming to the 360.

Was that, meh? Not at all. Nintendo did announce a few new stuff, Wii Speak, Wii Music, MotionPlus, Animal Crossing Wii, Wii Sports RESORT, Shaun White's Snowboarding. It's just, it's nothing MAJOR-ific.

Oh, forgot to mention a few more games...

~ The Last Remnant
~ Star Ocean: The Last Hope
~ Infinite Undiscovery
~ Geometry Wars 2
~ PORTAL Still ALIVE
~ A New South Park Arcade Game
~ Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
~ Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

Those are just a few games to add on.

That's not really what I meant. Those new features you have mentioned like the new dashboard, avatars, netflix, etc, are all nice, but I don't care very much about. And most of those games like Gears, Fallout, Fable that are really big hitters I've already known about and already pumped for.

There are some new one like Portal: Still Alive that lifts my head up but overall I'm like "Okay" then I move along.

Nintendo on the other hand.... ouch.

I'm glad they didn't mention MM9 because no one in their right mind gives a crap about it.

Otherwise yeah, the conference sucked. I am glad they are making a wii sports sequel (kind of?)

The Wii Mic idea blows chimp. I barely care about animal crossing unless it involves the torture and sodomizing of tom nook.

Is it really fair to have a "Guitar Hero for everyone" and a "Wii Music" space since they were the same product?

Also, Nintendo = Epic Fail

I myself didn't like the Nintendo conference but they did what they should have done. The hardcore and gaming industry panned nintendo, giving them no money. They find a new market and make tons of cash, they are right to cater to them.

No I don't see myself in this nintendo E3, even though I did support them, but many gamers just like myself didn't. Much like square they aren't out to make me happy they are out to make money. So did I like their E3 conference no, but did they do what was good for nintendo, Yea. I just thought a small nugget may have beem left for the nintendo fans who actually bought the systems in the past also.

No storage solution?! No redesigned DS?! No DLC?! These are the things important to me. It needs to be said: The Wii is a high selling, motion controlled Gamecube.

Nothing from the Nintendo or Microsoft Events were really exciting (or even new, in fact there was an alarming amount of "news" presented that we knew about for some time from both camps).

Then again, as a media event, both camps did very well. If you look at this event from a purely consumer's standpoint, then you are not understanding the intent of present-day E3.

ATTN: This year was the announcement of Wii MotionPlus. Next year, after it launches, the good hardcore games will be announced and they will need the MP. Kid Icarus and the next Zelda will need the 1:1 control.

Wow.... Nintendo has officially gone down the tubes.
What could have been one of the coolest parts of E3 ( the moion plus addition to the wii mote) turned out to SUCK. They fricken showed a woman throwing a "cute dog" a frisbee. OH good thing I have a wii so I can throw a fake frisbee to a fake fricken dog!
And there was practically nothing about DS, all they did was yap yap yap about there sales that no one cares about! The only games that they announced were GTA and another guitar hero. What is with that??
Oh and what a brilliant finale! I thought that they were going to unveil something extremely cool and we get Wii MUSIC! It looks like a game for a bunch of toddlers to play.
2 years after hearing about wii music THIS is what they throw together. NINTENDO OFFICIALLY SUCKS!!!
