My take as a Wii owner:
1. Wii Music - If there are no goals, I'm not interested. I don't want to just stand there and move my arms for a few minutes.

2. I really loved Wii Sports, but I may have exhausted my interest in minigames. We'll see how good the sword fighting is.

3. After Mario Strikers Charged I am no longer interested in Mario sports games.

4. WarioLand Shake looks incredible. Must buy.

Oh, I forgot Animal Crossing. I've already bought two of them, and the third looks like more of the same. Pass.

I would normally say "shut it" but I can't.
The only game that I currently am interested in is Samba De Amigo for the Wii. None of the 1st party games seem interesting.

Are you people talking about the E3 games? Because as for Wii games in general, just off the top of my head, I can name wario land, mad world, the conduit, rune factory frontier, sam and max, and no less than two new tales games that really interest me. And I -suck- at naming things off the top of my head.

You're free to keep LOLing of course. Have fun.

I know it isn't a Wii game, but where's my Kirby Superstar remake at Nintendo? It's coming out in August, why isn't it at E3. If you think the hardcore gamers are mad at you now, just wait until you deprive us of our Kirby Superstar much longer.

It was half sarcasm, half complete and utter seriousness. I know most people don't care about it, but Kirby Superstar's one of my all time favorite games, and aside from Chrono Trigger it's the only DS game I'm looking forward to at all.

But that explanation was only because you said please.

Well, it was a pretty crappy press conference. But I'm sure they were looking at it as a way to get the word out to casual gamers, leaving the "hardcore" to get all their info over the web, which they would have done anyway.

So in that way it was a success.

How many casual players even know what E3 is. This show should've been all about the hardcore players.

Judging by the fact that all the Big 3's conferences mentioned numbers of software/hardware etc. (Ninty especially), it seems that Ninty cares more about it's fucking stockholders who want Nintendo to profit from casual gamers rather than the hardcore gamers who've supported Nintendo since NES/SNES days.

Casuals don't have to know about E3 to hear a news story about it later. Remember, the conference is all press now, Nintendo doesn't see the need to cater to a gamer audience while there.

Yeah.

I plan on getting all 3 eventually.

Wish I would have saved the $250 on the Wii towards a 60GB Blu-Ray Player that also plays games. ; )

Seriously though, I can't wait for this Christmas and play some Resistance, Warhawk, Drake's and maybe even Resistance 2 by that time.

Wow their line up for this year sucks. Lets hope they show more than just these games on the show floor. Didn't they have some surprises last year on the floor that wasn't in the keynote or is that just wishful thinking?

I don't think it was last year, but at E3 2006 they waited until like the end of the day to reveal Brawl instead of showing it in their press conference.

BUT AT LEAST WE HAVE A SNOWBOARDING GAME THAT THEY SPENT 15 MINUTES PRESENTING RITE? HURRRR

Strange logic that a few wii games you don't like getting announced would change the reason that you bought a wii in the first place. Did you buy it just for the possibility that game you would like would be announced?

what a travesty. its like they want peopel to hate them. Miyamot should think of retireing soon unless he makes a new real game.

the wii music demo was sad, i coudlnt watch miyamoto die like that

I know. What's up with Miyamoto right now? Here is a man with the most creative, ingenius mind in the whole universe and yet he's having to waste his time with bland, unimaginative mediocrity like Wii Fit and Wii Music....

PS. If I see one more photo of some wrinkled old hag "having fun" with a Wii remote I think I'm going to kill myself. As an artist, pandering to old people is the worst thing you can possibly do. I don't dislike old people, but they have appalling taste in everything. One should always strive to create art that old people hate. If old people like something, that means it's awful.

what do you guys want him to make? A fps based on World War II? or a fps about killing an alien force? or a fps about a guy in a secret lab where something has gone wrong? That's what Sony and Microsoft showed. Everytime I run with a comment like that, I think of that Simpsons' Comic Book Guy...

Can too much innovation be a bad thing? If i recall correctly, New Super Mario Bros. was pretty successful, so why not do another one? Or expand on the idea and do something similar? Maybe i just happened to really like that game, so i might be partial to it.

I think everyone complains "blah blah another sequel" but they always seem to sell better than everything else since it sits well with the consumer's comfort zone. Who knows, Nintendo seems to have a handle on things, but i'm not impressed at what i saw at all.

I mean...really?

I guess they feel that with 700,000 Wiis flying off the store shelves a month, they can take a lax attitude with the games.

Worst conference Nintendo has ever done. It was so cute! Awwww! The Japanese probably loved it! Whatever, Nintendo is happy. They're making a lot of money on simplicity. While the other BIG guns take years to make just one game.

Nintendo catered to families and old people and can you blame them? It's become their core demographic and what made them the #1 selling console. It's funny though when you watch Miyamoto and friends playing wii music side by side next to Gears2 footage. Someone's gotta make that clip. It really says a lot about how divided our industry is right now, much like the country.

Nintendo catered to them not becuase of "core demographic" status, but because E3 is something that gets picked up in the national media, and there are few other options for getting the word out to casual gamers.

Hardcore gamers learn everything they need to know over the web. Why waste print space on them?

You wail your arms around and pretend to play music... I can buy a CD for 4 bucks and do the same thing without having to spend 250 dollars on a Wii and 50 bucks on a game...

I don't get why many people want to sell their wiis just because a few games they don't want got announced. If you don't like it get a 360(NOT A PS3!!!) and leave your wii in the closet for a year until E3 09.

Selling your Wii for profit when it no longer entertains you or your grandparents is a lucrative endeavor. Wiis are good investments with high turn-around whenever Nintendo can't match their supply to society's demand.

Wii is not only a good business decision for Nintendo. It can be a wonderful business decision for Average Joe Consumer!

I was looking forward to a little bit of hardcore love, but the closest they could get was a hardcore/casual title which looks pretty much like a GC port.
And whats that? An addon for the the Wiimote that makes it what you said it would be from the start?
No thanks, Im done.
The Nintendo conference was horrible to watch, I cringed at least once every 5 minutes, and to think I used to be a huge fan of Nintendo.

Please Nintendo, give us some proper titles and you can take back the 50 fucking attachments piled on my shelf and gathering dust that we need to play the games on your swiss army knife!

Their conference was quite disappointing. But Nintendo targets the general consumer and the press is going to cover E3 quite a bit. Nintendo really only cared about getting into the papers that the average joe reads.

Sadly, it slighted the hardcore or even midcore or whatever we call em. It definitely sucked. Here's hoping they hold another conference later in the year showcasing Kid Icarus or whatever team mario/zelda is working on. At least the other consoles had decent conferences.. multiplatform ftw!

I don't see why everyone is surprised at this crap lineup. I personally love Nintendo, but they can only release so much goodness in one year, and I foresaw something like this when they made the mistake of releasing Mario Kart in the same week as GTA4. In my opinion, the guy making these decisions should be shot.
even though the wario game has potential.

Forget about new games. Show pics of Earthbound for VC or Mother 3 for GBA for Western audiences. That would blow whatever the PS3 and Xbox 360 have out of the water.

Goddammit I'm so pissed. I love my Wii, and I've been wasting plenty of time lately on Kart, Z&W, and BoomBlox. But this conference was a utter and complete pile of vomit and garbage. Wasted a great opportunity to impress faithful Wii owners, but alas, they puked on my shoes. On all of our shoes. CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP. Other than No More Heroes I'm at something of a loss as to what I actually want to play on the system.

Thank jeebus I'm a multiplat owner.

Yeah, I'm a nintendo fan, and was hoping for Punch Out, the games they announced... were all in all, terrible for the Wii. Wii Music looks silly/dumb. I thought someone said no Wii Sports Sequel... Where is the game that will please "hard core" gamers like we were promised? Animal Crossing looks EXACTLY the same as the Gamecube version. The Wario Game is the only one I'm interested in. Seriously, Wii Punch Out would've been amazing.
