This is interesting to say the least. maybe a little to late. I have a cooler for my 360 (not from Nyko) but it just seems weird that thing on the back of a 360.

I have an original day one 360, and still to this day never had a problem with my 360, no overheating, no disk read error, not one!.

Same here.Mine's second-hand so I'm not sure how old it is(at least 1.5 years) but it makes my wonder if all these people on their "twentieth" 360 are just Sony Fanboys who wouldn't touch a real 360 with a 50ft pole?

dedicated power source? if this thing isn't too terribly noisy, i'm all about it!

but if it still piggybacks off the 360's power, no way.

No.. the broken 360's are real.. I'm on my 4th unit, everyone I know that has one except 1 person has had to send theirs in for repair. It's been known for a long time that there was a 30+ percent failure rate.

But I still like the unit, even though it's frustrating.

Yeeeeaaahhhh......I bet I do, the last time I put an Intercooler on my 360 it bricked in less than 2 days. Worked fine for a whole year and a half, slapped and intercooler on and I got the RROD. Never again....

Its not the PS3 overheating I am worried about, its the firmwares bricking some PS3s but mostly, the Blu-Ray drive that has given trouble to a bunch of PS3 owners, myself included, with GTA4 damaging my drive but it still read CDs and DVDs, but they use a separate laser for that.

MGS4 has had the same problem on some PS3s. I'm waiting to buy a PS3 until this is fixed. I could stand all the exclusives being lost, the bad publicity, but not bad build quality. And now you had to kill hardware BC Sony, damn!

Funny how now I've stopped hearing about 360 build quality issues and you'll see lots of complaints about the PS3 on the official PS forums. : (

And the first PS1s and PS2s also had issues with their disc drive. History repeating itself.

This cooler seems unneccessary. I keep my Falcon 360 in a cabinet for long GTA4 sessions and zero problems whereas it kept freezing on my PS3 and then finally broke the damn drive.

I don't know about that, but I sure see your story in damned near every post. It sucks for your loss, but we get it already.

Its been a while since I posted my sob story no? : 0

Yeah, I'm being annoying but damn, I've been a hardcore Sony fanboy and they've let me down with their build quality and when they fix the Blu-Ray drive problems in the new models, hardware BC will be dead..........FOREVER!!!!! : (

Yeah, it's been since yesterday since you mentioned it. I mean, it sucks your PS3 died, but you keep trying to make it sound like that since yours died, and a couple other people on a forum, that there's some mass failure of PS3s... there isn't. Yet you basically bring it up every day.

I have to agree. With the amount you post this, I'm quite inclined to suspect you're a 360 fanboy who just likes to spread fear about the PS3.

The vast vast VAST majority of PS3 users have no problems. The failure rate, even as a high estimate, is about 1%. That's pretty fantastic.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/136054/sony_claims_ps3_failure_rate_of_less_than_1_percent.html

So... if you're one of the very small percentage of people who got screwed, I'm sorry. But you talk about it like it's a common problem, and it's not. At all. So stop characterizing it as happening to "a bunch" of PS3 users.

PS3s over heat. I hear people talk about it on the Playstation forums. It much more rare luckily. I personally haven't had any issues with over heating.

PS3's pretty much never overheat unless you run them under a wool blanket.

I've also heard that, and I wouldn't call it a "fun" fact.

I hooked one up a long time ago and it showed a rrod - unplugged it and the console was happy again. Tried this a few times in a row and then dropped it back at the store.

Tis true. They also cause little burn marks on your 360, which void your warranty.

Have you not read about how the Intercooler increases the risk of RROD?

I would avoid Intercooler.

Let alone the increased RROD risk, how about the "lighting your fucking console on fire" risk?

Just buy a mini-refrigerator and put the 360 in there.

Haha... PS3 intercooler... Man I hope no one buys that crap. PS3s are rock solid stable. Mine's been running Folding@Home 24/7 for over a year, that's over 9,000 hours in all kinds of conditions (up to 90 degrees ambient temperature) maxing out the CPU and Memory. No failures, not even a hiccup.

I do hope the new inter-coolers with a separate AC adapter help keep 360's more stable. It's not right for anyone to have their console bricked.

I wish Zalman would make a 360 cooler, I'd spend up to 70-ish dollars on it.
