It wasn't a launch title, it came out Fall 07. And Insomniac announced that they will not be updating R&C or Resistance 1 to support Trophies yet - if at all.
I'd say ultima_omega's comment is valid. I see Insomniac including trophies in this R&C PSN Title. I'm sure they had the resources to add in trophies for a while.
I'm excited for this release. I've loved every single R&C game so far - though I have only played the demo of Secret Agent Clank. This is an immediate buy for me and if it has trophy support, all the better.
Its pretty much a Tools of Destruction Expansion. Its the same gameplay and graphics as ToD and the story of the expansion begins where ToD ended... Personally cant wait for this (and some other titles of course)
Good point. They just don't call it an expansion because this is supposed to be longer than an expansion and is considered it's own entity. As a result, the previous game is not required to play this.
The footage of this game looked awesome, especially for such a low price tag!! This along with the new Resistance 2 footage makes for 2 definite first day purchases! Thank you Insomniac for making that conference worth watching!
No disc needed. They said even if you haven't played the ToD game, this will bring you up to what ahs happened with the disappearance of clank. I was saying, man, Im thinking a $30 price tag, and when they said $14, I was like: O MAN EVEN BETTER!
I think it is among the best that came out of todays presentation... It is a PSN Title of amazing quality. Probably a little short in quantity but at that price-tag who can complain... if it is successfull i bet we will se way more episodical content... maybe some Uncharted chapters too...
I like that idea - especially since you won't need to swap discs for all these little episodes...
It's funny how Insomniac has become such a major piece of Sony's marketing. They highlighted this as a major title for PSN, Resistance 2 as the main title for PS3 (they even pushed Killzone 2 onto the back burner), and Resistance: Retribution as a major title for the PSP (even though Insomniac isn't developing it). Not to mention the newly announced Size Matters PSP bundle which I know was done by High Impact but it is nonetheless an Insomniac property..
Personally I like this idea more than a full length R&C game. Don't get me wrong I can't wait for the next full game but it's like Resistances map packs. It's meant to add content between titles. And it shows the potential of the PSN. Seeing this alongside titles like Flower on the PSN makes me excited for the future of PSN downloadable games. Plus it's only $15.
I'm buying this I need to have 45 games(20 PS3 and 20 360 and 5 Actual good Wii games excluding arcade XBLA and small PSN titles and handhelds) in total for me to reach my goal.
Right now I'm selling and buying so I won't start my collection until September
I will buy this right away. R&C:TOD was and is a fantastic game for any age, imo.
I'm glad it's $15, I thought it would be $20 for sure. If PSN gets more "short games" like this, that will REALLY give it a leg up.
And what a great way for a developer to "test out" a game--put a short game up on PSN (but full PS3 quality) and see how it sells. If it does well, then produce a full game.
Two questions: 1. Does this indicate an end to R&C disk-based games? 2. I didn't see weapons in the trailer. Does this indicate a new focus on platforming over combat?
kevin said... isnt that game a launch title HOW THE HELL WOULD IT COME WITH TROPHIES YOU MORON! --------------------------------------------------------------
Ever heard of updating the game? BTW, tat's not happening any time soon, bcoz Insomniac wants 2 finish Resistance 2 b4 addin trophys. But it might happen after R2's releate, tho.
