Ubisoft has officially announced I Am Alive, a new adventure that forces players to "think, react and take risks that will directly affect themselves and those around them" as they navigate a Chicago "left in ruins." The game is currently targeted for release on "current generation video game consoles" during Spring 2009. Not much else is known about the title, though earlier reports suggested that Assassin's Creed producer, Jade Raymond, would be taking the reins of this disaster game.
We'll let you know as soon as we learn more. Update: Teaser trailer after the break.
It's hard to get excited about yet another post-apocalyptic game, that isn't coming out for a year. Still though, Ubisoft doesn't make too many flops, so it's definitely cautious optimism as far as this one goes.
This doesn't look post-apocalyptic in the same way Gears does. Based on that one (awesome) image, it looks more like modern day-gone-wrong. Either way, I'm intrigued.
So, what? Did the US store a few too many old nuclear weapons in a place they shouldn't have? It's not as if there's much tectonic activity in the center of the North American continent.
I like how quickly his former friends and co-workers (I assume) were willing to kill him over a bottle of water. And then how quickly he was willing to throw away said water to dispatch them. Why didn't he just give it to them instead of killing them? They could have shared it and then Adam wouldn't be minus a water bottle and a few friends.
Ah, who am I kidding! That was badass! Did you see the way that glass broke?! And their faces! Aw man that was cool!
is there a reason that all the new games that come out that are based in chicago are about a city that is left in ruins or is disintigrating or whatever. First Resistance 2 now this. Why aren't the new york based games about a city in ruins or whatever!! I like chicago.
Well, if you were to take reference from the game. You'd probably be wondering why their aren't huge cracks in the ground and collapsed skyscrapers and homicidal people that only want some water.
That damaged building is leaning on NBC Tower! Glad to see they are using some real buildings in Chicago instead of making up their own version of Chicago.
Can anyone say 'Disaster Report' or 'Raw Danger'? Granted, those were way lower budget, and a smaller price tag, but in my opinion, they were descent games. I am excited for I Am Alive, just hope it doesn't resemble the previous mentioned games too much.
0:57 - EL-Train bridge has domain name on it. ruaumoko.com : nothing at the site currently but it was registered by ubisoft 6/20/08. Keep an eye on it.
seriously though what's up with the guy. I mean if a disaster happened, people would help each other not throw someone water just to kill them as in 9/11. It doesn't make sense. What happened to survival by numbers?
Hey whatever happened to that game that Monolith was working on for the Wii. It was about disasters and stuff. Haven't heard anything about it since E3 2005 or so.
Did the coffee scene remind anyone else of children of men? Right at the start where he puts the coffee down, then a bomb goes off in the shop he just exited..
