Xbox 360 exclusive :(
Solid Chief @ Jul 15th 2008 7:07AM
Good for me at least ^_^
Just get it on PC (since I bet its excluded from exclusivity)
benny boy @ Jul 15th 2008 8:07AM
Notice it says 2008 XBox 360 Exclusive. That probably means it is just a timed exclusive.
FOXHOUND @ Jul 15th 2008 8:15AM
Yeah, I know I can use keyboard+mouse on PS3... but, PC version, plz. :d It was the only good way to play THE ORANGE BOX afterall(still the best value gift of '07).
Helloimbob @ Jul 15th 2008 9:29AM
I couldn't bear playing this game with a controller...
Geoffrey Sperl @ Jul 15th 2008 10:05AM
@Helloimbob: Playing Portal was just fine on a controller for me. I had no issues at all.
I personally think the entire controller vs. keyboard/mouse is just in people's heads.
Haggard @ Jul 15th 2008 11:09AM
@FOXHOUND
Probably the best *game* of 2007, if you take everything it provides as a whole.
tuaamin13 @ Jul 15th 2008 7:09AM
How can one of the best PC games ever be a 360 exclusive?
I bet you that in less than a month after it releases someone will release custom maps/mod that is the same game.
Eggy @ Jul 15th 2008 8:17AM
Why do you care. You can download a ton of new maps for free. Some of which are made by developers from other games and also a mappack containing all the maps from the flash version of portal. Console gamers get to pay some more again.
Chef Reinhold @ Jul 15th 2008 7:40AM
The voice-over says a 2008 exclusive. Is is coming to pc and ps3 in 2009?
faded515 @ Jul 15th 2008 8:13AM
It's likely coming to PC in 2009 but not PS3 as Valve don't like the PS3 much, unless EA is getting porting it again.
GenBanks @ Jul 15th 2008 8:13AM
I'm betting that this is basically a map-pack that doesn't advance the story. They wouldn't release anything major that impacts the lore of the HL2/Portal world as an xbox 360 exclusive XBLA game. This just makes up for all the custom maps that are available for the PC version :p
Cutty @ Jul 15th 2008 8:15AM
These days the word 'exclusive' applies to console formats only, probably meaning that this won't be on the PS3. Somehow I don't think the PC will miss out on this, especially since it's a Valve game.
Haggard @ Jul 15th 2008 11:18AM
It might not even be Valve doing it. The GLaDOS voice didn't sound quite right, and it might just be a map-pack
Nadril @ Jul 15th 2008 8:24AM
Yeah no doubt it's a map pack. Maybe it'll be it's own standalone game of new maps, but it's hard to tell.
JohnMazz @ Jul 15th 2008 9:27AM
Holy crap... Game trails intro and outro are like half of that video. Come on Gt.. Really? Half?
Maybe slap a logo on there and skip all the nonsense, huh?
zero2dash @ Jul 15th 2008 9:57AM
It'll come out on PC also.
Gabe Newell apparently hates the Ps3 so I doubt it'll be on there, not for awhile at least. (Until EA ports it, if they do.)
Given the choice, I'll be waiting for the PC version; I'd rather have it on PC than 360.
DigitalNexus @ Jul 15th 2008 10:08AM
When I first heard GLaDOS' voice, I nearly wet my pants.
Wasn't expecting something that epic when I was watching yesterday's conference.
JAY JAY @ Jul 15th 2008 10:35AM
That's it? THAT'S IT?! THAAAT'S IIITT?!!
capt_carl @ Jul 15th 2008 10:37AM
I'll stick with the Portal: The Flash Version mappack to tide me over until this hits my PC. Either that or shooting nubs with the Flare Gun in TF2. :D
eldee @ Jul 15th 2008 11:29AM
Geoffrey Sperl: Yeah, it's all in our heads until a keyboard/mouse user rapes a gamepad user in a FPS.
Then the tears start flowing and PC users have an unfair advantage.
Mr.ESC @ Jul 15th 2008 11:33AM
That reminds me I only have 2 challenges left to complete in Portal for the achievement.
Mr.ESC @ Jul 15th 2008 11:35AM
Screw FF13 this was the best announcement (at least for me).
This is a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS
