Welcome to E3 2008, now with less magic

Even so, we do look forward to see what the show has in store for us when it officially kicks off later today. After all, we're not total pessimists. Yet.

What caused it's demise?

The ESA deciding to be epic fail and make it invite only, cut down the number of attendees, and split the public portion into E For All.

As far as I know the ESA had nothing to do with E For All. From what I can see it's held by IDG Entertainment.
Btw Arturo, are you the same Arturo that made the awesomesauce GBA thread on the GAF? If so I less than three you.

I miss the old E3 :(
Orionsaint @ Jul 15th 2008 12:48AM
meh i hated old E3, most were there to just dress up in costume, not to mention the annoying little punks. E3 was a mess! Now it's well organized and more enjoyable.

In other news the Tales demo is available on the Marketplace for the 360.
I loved it surprisingly enough. Beautiful graphics/animation. Like Eternal Sonata (which is a great thing).
I like the voice acting and I love the characters already. Seems like I'm destined to spend a lot of money on games this year as well...
NukeAssault @ Jul 15th 2008 12:55AM
Pretty sure that's been out for a few days... >_>
ThePerfectCompanion @ Jul 15th 2008 12:58AM
In Japan and maybe other regions but I like to wait my turn and today was the first day that I saw the demo was in the US Marketplace.
If I'm wrong then my bad. Anyways that wasn't the main point of my post.
Just curious how others feel about the game.

Good, it's time to grow up.

Old E3-"Gaming has changed".
PAX-"BROTHER!!"
EforAll-"Lulz I'm teh suck".
TGS-"何を言っですか?"

May I direct your attention towards the recently posted Crispygamer.com piece regarding E3 and it's commandments? Here, it's right here:

Already complaining about E3? Dude, it starts tomorrow.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jul 15th 2008 1:08AM
Damn taht's fucking depressing.

I went to E3 in 2004 and it was amazing. But it's just too expensive a thing to put on.
Remember when music videos were high budget? Now they're all just cheap because everyone pirates music.
Since these games cost millions to make and can easily end up in the discount bin a month later game companies can't afford to blow their budget for an E3 showing.
And why can't I change my avatar.
Dwag @ Jul 15th 2008 2:41AM
Can't wait for the Sony and Nintendo conference after that the only thing I care about is Tecmo making a new DOA(and or new NG game) and 2K games Borderlands.
Nintendo with the Conduit and what ever cool announcements they make I think they'll kinda over shadow Sony but Sony(even though I believe they are dumb bitches now) still got life in them.
Dwag @ Jul 15th 2008 3:37AM
I hate this posting system my post seem to disappear as soon as I refresh.
Well basically I asaid can't wait for the Sony and Nintendo event and i'm looking forward to Take Two's(2K Games) conference to see Borderlands and Tecmo to see if they plan or are already making DOA5 and Ninja Gaiden 3 and also what happened to DOA:Code Chronus.
I also like to add Namco Bandai to see Tekken 6(hope this doesn't go to the 360)

If it makes it easier for the companies to get the media tos ee the stuff then it's a good thing for me. I would never have got to E3 so the opportunity to see more of it is good for me.
