Can I change the skin color of my Avatar? Because I for one love Live insults already, and having a racially sensitive Avatar I think would make Halo 3 oh so much more fun.
But, as someone who is not of the caucasian persuasion, I think I'd be a little miffed if you couldn't change the color of your Avatard.

Unlike that new Golf game on XBLA. Only white people...heck I'm white and I had an issue with that.

Nobody has yet commented that we can all mess with the avatars like we can with the Miis on the Wii. They don't HAVE to look like you.
I have a Wii (but after this E3 I've decided to sell the damn thing..kinda embarrassed to even own it.)
I never use the Mii I made of myself, just the odd, Diane Arbus-like freak ones I've made. I can't wait to make an Avatar of an angry constipated guy with ponytails and no pants, or a fat dude in a tiny coat.
If games allow Avatar accessory downloads (like Gamerpictures), I can imagine a chick Avatar with a sniper rifle, Marcus Fenix soul patch, aviator glasses and zombie-bitten, bleeding legs.
As long as Microsoft allows these types of abilities, the possibilities to show off your twisted sense of humor is endless.

What was so bad about Nintendo at this year's E3? I have been sort of following it and I usually watch the press conferences via Gamespot, but I haven't yet this year because my PC speakers crapped out. All I've really noticed is the new WiiMotion peripheral (which is awesome) and the sequel to WiiSports (which is also awesome). Did Nintendo drop the ball on something specific or what?

You know Magic Whiskey, I hope that'll be the case because World Championship Poker (the firsat game) had that kind of customization where I would see players with the most outrageous looks but funnier than all outdoors. So i hope like you said the customization would be endless.

i spent a lot of time on xbox.com and other sites browsing themes and gamerpics.. i like how my xbox dashboard looks now and i dont have any major complaints about the current dashboard setup..
i think its wrong to charge for a service or a product and not support it.. its not fair and it looks like m$ is avoiding that obvious pitfall..

No offense but the original design IMHO is much better. I don't know how this nice reflection effect will work on grass... lol.
Seriously, the new UI looks even sexier than I thought with themes. Man MS is really doin' some nice work here. Cannot wait to get it on my system.

In the halo theme picture it shows that the legendary map pack is 800 points, not 600, I wonder why? (I doubt its because they're bringing the price back up though, no sarcasm)
Also I don't like how in the first picture (the gears 2 theme) that the bottom portion of the screen remains grey, thats just boring. It will look wierd too when you don't have a 32:9(ish) ratio pictures if you want your own pictures for the theme.

these are mockups of the user interface, all of the content being show is filler only, prices, descriptions, pictures, etc. etc. etc. on this interface shouldn't be taken as information, it's purely there because people have a hard time conceptualizing what something will look like without some kind of filler content to show them how content will be formatted/appear in the interface.

I'm guessing that there will be only 1 Theme Picture with this new dashboard interface rather then having like 5 Theme Pictures when you switch blades which would suck big time.

OK. That's good news about the themes. Now to answer the other question- What about the gamerpics???? I love my gamerpics and want to keep on using them. I'd rather them than the avatars.

All I want to know is can we choose to not use the stupid avatars. I have no interest in a Xii. If I wanted to fuck around with a Mii, I'd turn on my Wii, which I rarely do. Dumb idea in the first place. Even dumber to copy it. Miis in home is NOT innovation. Epic Fail.

I do not understand why people have a problem with this. They just enjoy bitching about things for what ever reason, the new guide satisfies the entire current xbox 360 dashboard... and the new content is great, the old system sucked for viewing descriptions and things, new one addresses these issues, for some perspective i recommend you look at the original xbox 1 dashboard
