Guitar Hero: Aerosmith patched for Rock Band guitars on 360

Sure, we've been trying to get to the bottom of the inconsistent incompatibility between Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and non-Guitar Hero guitars for weeks. Some players who try to use, let's say, the Rock Band Stratocaster would be greeted by the above screen while other encountered no problems at all.

Well, at least we're not going crazy: Activision told MTV News that "a recent auto-downloaded title update" to the Xbox 360 version of GH: Aerosmith "should" make that game compatible with other guitars, like the Rock Band Strats. Now, that wasn't so hard, was it Activision? (Also, you couldn't have just told us when we asked you fifty times earlier this month. We're feeling like Rodney Dangerfield over here).

It's garbage, don't worry. The career setlist is 31 songs, with 9 bonus songs to buy/unlock. The bonus songs are mostly from Joe Perry's solo project, and even Aerosmith is missing a number of big hits you would expect in the game. And they want full price for this game??

Yeah, I was one of the ones who didn't have any problem. I beat it on a three day rental and returned that POS game - I think there are maybe 10 songs worth playing. I'd have bought it at $30 but not at $60.

I think Activision realized a LOT of people would not touch GH:WT if it meant buying a new drum kit. So to ensure at least a $60 sale of the game, they're making it compatible with "other" drum kits and guitars. I might get GH:WT now, since I am already going to get the ION Rock Band kit and I do NOT want three kits in my basement.

That doesn't fit in with Neversoft's plan to use 5 drum pads as opposed to RB's 4... you could (possibly) avoid buying new guitars, but it looks like you will need yet another drum kit for GHWT.

I'm getting the Ion Drum Kit for my son for his birthday, so that should work... hopefully. It has enough pads...

This is bullshit...how come they couldn't patch the PS3 Rock Band to work with GH3 guitars...????

FWIW I have the 360 title update and a Rock Band guitar that works in GH:Aerosmith.

They actually said in an E3 interview that if a rock band drum set is detected, the game will adapt to that, and make it so only 4 notes are displayed.

GH3 sucked ass... and Im hella sure GH:WT will too
RB is the way to go... its really got like... ton's of good music... unlike GH3

the only good GH games were GH1,2
and thats cause the people from RB made 1 and 2
