It would have been a megaton if it also confirmed that there would be no product placement and that they would finally get rid of that blur-filter the last two Pikmins had. But...it's close enough to a megaton for me :)
Unlike some other people apparently, I was a little too jaded to consider Wii Pikmin to be a no-brainer. I mean, after various things like Nintendo's apparent abandonment of "true" StarFox games, the fifteen-year gap between 2D Marios (Mario World -> New Mario), the abandonment of TV-playable 2D Marios and Metroids, and the lack of any sort followup to things like Luigi's Mansion or StarTropics (over fifteen years), and all of the barely-a-game junk they've been focusing on *instead* of any such things, I've gotten used to a giant gap existing between what *should* be a Nintendo no-brainer and what *is* a Nintendo no-brainer.

Nintendo seriously has me scratching my head now. they had Pikmin and a new Kirby DS game, but they mentioned neither yesterday during their sham of a keynote. that makes no sense to me.
anyway, i had really been waiting for a new Pikmin so this is great.

We REALLY need a forum. Seriously.
But yeah, yay for Pikmin! Never has death-marching your own men into water been so soul crushing!

That animated gif at the end linked as 'fernando' is the epitome of excellence in humor.

playing pikmin takes not only skill but practice. I played through pikmin one failed, then I played through and got the medium win (all 25 required parts) then I played it AGAIN and got all parts in 29 days. that satisfied me so I stopped there. pikmin 2 came out and i finished it in 87 days, then I did it again and did it in 54 days, then once more and I managed it in 26 days. After being quite content with my fewer days than pikmin one score on pikmin two I went back to pikmin one and completed it in 21 days. thus concluding my pikmin adventures.
