They look nothing short of awful.
FOXHOUND @ Jul 16th 2008 8:49AM

Bleh. I'm so tired of this compatibility issue bull. I feel like we've been pulled back into the dark ages of PC use before plug and play existed.
Activision, stop being stupid. Win over the competition with a quality product, not by nerfing your product. That doesn't make any sense.

Its not just Activision's fault. Harmonix insists on using THEIR standard, instead of working with Activision to use another standard. Just look at the situation on the Wii, where nothing was stopping Harmonix from using the GH3 guitar except their insistance to use Harmonix's own proprietary standard.

Harmonix offered to do compatibility with GH but Activision didn't want that so Harmonix did their own thing. I'm assuming that by use the GH3 guitar you mean create a plastic shell for the wiimote. Using the wiimote in the Wii guitar would have been a good idea if it had actually made the package cheaper. I'd much rather have a full guitar than a plastic shell that costs the same amount. I do like the use of the speaker though.

I like products designed by color blind people. Its not a handicap... it's handiCAPABLE!

Does "all guitar hero games" mean Guitar Hero 1 and 2 will work in my PS3 with these guys? Or do you just mean the PS3 versions of Guitar Hero (GHIII and Aerosmith)?

Does "all Guitar Hero games" mean GH1 and GH2 will work on my PS3 with this thing? Or just the PS3 versions of GH3 and GH:Aerosmith?
Catdogburger @ Jul 16th 2008 12:13PM
oops, and to answer you question above with the "all" guitar hero games, the guitar specifically says "PS2 games only work in a PS2 console."
sucks I know, but what can you do?
Catdogburger @ Jul 16th 2008 11:14AM
Down here in Canada we have a company called iCON,
their guitar works for PS2 and PS3, all guitar hero games and rockband.
the ONLY thing you can't do is play PS2 games in a PS3.
and the price is 49.99$, sweet deal

Have you ever tried this guitar? I can't find it anywhere else on the web, there are no reviews posted, and the site's return policy still talks about extended returns for holidays until January of 2008. not building confidence here...
Sounds great if it works though!
Catdogburger @ Jul 16th 2008 12:10PM
I bought it specifically for PS3 usage and it works great (as long as you set it up the right way), it does work for both GH 3, GH Aerosmith, and Rock band all by itself and with the official controllers as well. There is one minor problem about the rock band portion of the controller, you can't finger tap on the lower frets during a solo. Normally on a solo you can do that on the official guitar, but with this one you have to strum. I haven't tried it with the PS2 yet, but i lent it to my friend and he said it work very well for PS2.
I bought it at zellers, and i also seen them at my local walmart too, the best thing about it is the price, 49$.
So keep looking for one, it's a fantastic guitar.
Cheers, catdog
