The Who headlining Rock Band 2 party tonight
Rumors have been flying left and right all day that The Who would be gracing the stage at the Rock Band party tonight. Well, we decided to visit the The Who's website to see if we could glean any clues. Yes, there's a huge clue right there in left hand news feed. "According to REUTERS, The Who are playing a private show at a historic theatre in Los Angeles this evening to help promote the "Rock Band" video game..."It makes a lot of sense, because The Who's Rock Band content just dropped this week, so they should just change that to "according to our official website," but hey, The Who. Live in town to promote Rock Band 2. Now you're talkin' bout my generation. Rock on. Maybe Roger Daltrey isn't so bored by the game anymore. Or maybe all it takes to excite him is the smell of a paycheck.
We'll have a full report tonight, or tomorrow, depending on how coherent we are later. If we're lucky, it'll even have video and audio goodies in it.

But I thought Roger Daltrey said Rock Band was boring?

Holy good point, Batman. See how addled my brain is? Updated the post with the info. Much thanks for the reminder.

I think he's fine playing a real guitar to support the advertisement of Rock Band as long as he doesn't have to play it himself.

Yea, but money isn't. I mean come on, I love money!

That's pretty cool, The Who Rocks! Just bought the Pack in Rock Band Yesterday, bummed I can't play the keyboard part on guitar though, unless it is on the bass part, I have not tried that yet.

Better than that horrible Ramones cover band Rock Revolution had.

Actually I was thrilled that HMX didn't map the keyboards or piano to the guitar. I feel such a jarring disconnect when they do that. You should have seen me in my living room at 6:30am on Tuesday morning, as Baba was loading, saying to no one in particular (my girlfriend was getting ready and thought I was insane) "come on HMX, please please don't make me me do this, please make my immersion complete".
Needless to say I gave a yelp of joy when I got to stand there and admire the graphical beauty of Rock Band for 1:44 :) Purists win, ADD society loses.
No hard feelings man :)

MHD was playing a really interesting The Who documentary the other day. If you have access to it, I'd recommend that you do a little searching and record it the next time it comes on to watch later.
