I've just spent some time on those sites and I haven't seen anything about gamerpics. Now, maybe I missed it and I'm going to eat my words, but where did YOU read something about gamerpics being explained?

I think the "New Xbox Experience" looks pretty damn good. Im a fan of the PS3 menu layout and this looks similar to that one. I don't care if they "copied" that's how you make better things, you take great features from old products and add better features.

This looks TERRIBLE honestly i dont want to have an avatar I just want to be able to go to my friends gamercard and invite him to a match, or chat, or video share, why have a community channel that takes you out the game. I beg microsoft to make this optional i love the blades they work fine and im used to them now. If this isnt optional i just wont ever go to my dashboard ever again.

Uh why not make it optional, I like the blades and i hate the way it looks just give me an option to either use the new UI or not. I love everything else it is doing.

Looks really nice and I'm sure you'll be able to do something with themes. Also I love how all of a sudden there's all this love for the current dashboard. The current dashboard is a goddamn mess. So far this looks like an improvement.

Looks fine to me. Still seems simple to use, only now it's 3d-ish and not so flat. It could fellate you and people around here would bag on it though.

I like the new stuff and especially the Primetime stuff. That sounds really interesting. But that avatar crap has to go or at least be optional. It's totally not needed and a total waste of time and space. It's also a rip-off.

This "casual-oriented" interface won't draw in casual gamers. The 360 will forever be perceived by consumers a hardcore gamer console as long as realistic violent games are advertised and generate the most publicity for the console, just as the Wii will forever be perceived as the party and family console because of WiiSports.

My main concern is this:
Where is the friends list in the guide?
If I'm in a game and want to invite a friend, I don't want to have to go back to the main dash just to party up.
I'm hoping that's just a little mistake, and that a friends list will be there on the final version.

you know i thought i liked it at first from looking at the pictures, but seeing it in action now, not so much. it wont effect my 360 purchasing plans but im not as sold on it as before. it looks like a cross between the Wii Channels and Zune interface, and even as a Wii owner, im not a fan of its interface. it just looks weird to me. maybe im spoiled with the XMB.

if the avatar is customizable enough, then i think it could be quite interesting. friend accessibility looks kinda sketchy though...

Everyone seems to be asking about the gamerpics thing and im about 98% that I read the answer to this and didn't simply dream it up: You can still use your gamerpics where the little face of the avatar is in the top right or wherever but Microsoft "strongly advises" you to use the avatar system instead.

The new interface is much better than the current blades. The old blades made it tough to wade through the 100+ downloadable demos and movies. The new system should make it much smoother.
I prefer the Avatars over the gamerpics. The Avatars can be much further customized and will allow your jackass friends to express themselves much better than that picture of the GOW logo. Another cool thing about the avatars is how developers can incorporate them into the games themselves if they like. Pretty cool idea to me.
I am concerned with the "picture sharing" though. Thats just begging for abuse by moron teenagers.

I miss the terseness of the old blades. For someone who doesn't use photos or videos or music on the xbox, having to hunt for a friends list mid-game sounds like a hassle. Plus, multiple ways to kick you back to the dashboard sounds like trouble.
