E308: Madden NFL 09 Celebrations & Sadness trailer
30
Ah, sports games. You do not get enough love from us. But here's a freebie! Madden NFL 09 lands in stores this August and, so far, looks like a solid entry into the franchise. The latest trailer, now available on the Xbox Live Markeplace, focuses on the in-game celebration and frustration animations. Shockingly given permission for celebrations by the (usually) tight-laced NFL, EA Sports shows off a a handful of new moves you can expect to see in the endzone. Let's hope EA consulted with Ocho Cinco for the sake of realism (Sorry, maybe three of you know what I'm even talking about.)

Lebron will not become a NJ Net because the Nets plan to move to Brooklyn in the 10-11 season.

Eh, I don't think he'll be traded. The Bengals seem to be pretty stubborn on this one. On a more related note, I like the new celebration animations.

u would never get fair value for trading Ocho Cinco! U have to keep him! He's a top 5 receiver in the NFL!

I can't wait to try some of these celebrations out. And I guess I'm one of the 3 who understand what you are talking about.

I love how this site rarely ever mentions anything sports related. I'm a huge sports fan, and a pretty big sports videogame fan. It's nice to see a little bit of news, especially good news regarding the Madden franchise, which has pretty much been under par since the 360 was born. Thanks for the update, and no I don't expect you guys, nor do I really want you guys to delve into the sports genre any more than you do, especially since sports games don't really re-invent themselves too much to need to be covered.
PS: Keep up with the Gears updates as often as possible though!

Xav, unlike your scrawny co-workers (Dustin, you really need to get out more. You're so pale you make my irish-a** look black) there are people here interested in sports games. Probably more than 3 even. Thanks for the update - please don't forget about the new hockey games this fall.

EA Sports, Busta Rhymes, and Linkin Park. That's a lot of suck in one package right there.

sorry ive never been good at detecting textual sarcasm so im asking: your joking right?
anyway, chad will not be traded, no way can they afford an 8 million salary cap hit. he wont sit the season either since he gets paid to play. he will complain until his contract expires and they boot him or until the defense improves which im hoping under zimmer will come first.

Anyone catch the little tidbit at the end?
"First sports game that adapts to you"
what the hell is that all about?

Not really following Madden this year, are ya?
This years Madden automatically adjusts it's difficulty depending on the player. SO if you rule at passing and suck at running (Like me), then the passing difficulty will be set at all-madden, while the running will be more like All-Pro.
It keeps the game challenging yet fun for all players.

No, I'm not really following Madden this year. I'm sorry new celebrations and artificial intelligence tweaks don't warrant me hawking a game until it comes out, at least not anymore. I'm done paying $60 for a roster update.
They've always touted this "learning" ability in some form or another, last year they swore the game "learned" from your actions and would basically do the same thing as this year... if you pass all the time it makes the passing game a lot tougher, same with the running game.
This isn't anything new and it's pretty obviously stretching for features this year, even to jaded fanboys like you.

Who cares. Madden sucks! It still pisses me off that they got an exclusive license. That's one way to beat a superior game like the 2k series. Another way would have been to actually make a good game. Oh well...I guess this way was easier. Too bad fans of both series lose out.

As if this guy is the only person that follows the NFL. Maybe he's the all-knowing sports god here. Geez.
