so... um... free shit for those who can afford to take a few days off work and fly out to L.A. and locals only?

Damn, if only I still lived in L.A. instead of moving to Nowhere, Texas a few months back. Now I gotta settle for drooling over that stuff from 1600 miles away. DAMMIT!

I love you guys and all, but seriously, I've never seen such a pasty white sausagefest in all my life. And I am a tech geek who used to do the LAN party scene too.

Get yourself some of the opposite gender and maybe open the window and find some other racially influenced folk and THEN you'll have a hootenanny.

Thanks for the rockin coverage of E3 however and I hope you guys had as much fun there as I had reading your exploits.

Holy crap! Someone else from VA Beach reads this site too? That rocks! I'm of course from Wisconsin.

Nah that's retarded, I'm also at the Beach. Very cool to see some other local folk kickin it around these parts.

East coast, west coast, we here in the midwest never get the gaming conventions (or Joystiq meetups). In fact, I'm actually in the center of the US, lierally. Lawrence, KS is the center of Google earth becuase the inventor went to KU. This means I far away from everything.

Joystiq rocks. It is great that you guys are getting together with the fans and such. Giving free stuff away is also nice. Being in Georgia and nowhere close to the party, it is cool to have the live blog going.

Oh how I yearn for the Fallout 3 goodies!

Joystiq, just wanted to say thank you for the cool event and the free swag. No where else could I have gotten the cool Viva Pinata crate and Wi-Fi USB Connector. My girlfriend thanks you as well for the copy of Chibi Robo DS and Wii Fit Socks. Unfortunately had to leave early because of work. The Raving Rabbids figurine were really cool, too bad they were gone the second you started saying to form a line.

Thanks a lot.

217 out of 250-something didn't leave much, but you can't beat free dice and Rock Band 2. This rocked!

Also- Damn me for being nice and not running up for the last Rock Band 2 song when both Harmonix guys were like "Go! Go on up!"

Hey, thanks for the great party, Joystiq! I had to come after work (and after 405 traffic), so I was way back at number 253. But I still ended up with a free game (Wii's EA Playground... uh... hey, it's free!), and got to sing Psycho Killer poorly in front of a room full of fellow nerds. I gotta say, I was really hoping Rock Band 2 would be on display, and I got my wish!

BTW, for the dude who asked about the new GnR song, there were only about 25 RB2 tracks in that build, and that wasn't one. For instance, I was planning to select Lump or E-Pro, but neither were on the list. My third choice, The Middle, had just been sung, so I went with Psycho Killer... which was awesome, but damned hard to match David Byrne's vocals.

Next time hopefully I can get there earlier, but I'm totally glad I went. Thanks for hooking us up!

Er, sorry for the double post. It seemed not to show up, so I figured I'd edit it (I was number 235, not 253) and only confirm the repost... but I guess it went through both times after all. My bad.

Grr can anyone re-up this video to YouTube or something? Viddler crashes my flash installation like crazy, in any browser. I think I'm in this one, gotta see what I look like haha.

So this kicked ass, thanks for GRAW 2, the pack of Eye of Judgement cards with EyeToy (which I'll probably use with my tablet since I already have the Eye), and the t-shirt/sticker. Oh, and of course the guitar/bass time with RB2!!!

Thanks, Joystiq, for the kick ass party and all the free stuff! It was cool to finally put some faces to names of the staff that I see everyday while visiting the site!

My wife's glad she came 'cause she was able to pick up one of her favorite Wii games, Raving Rabbids, and a cool Nintendo character mug. I don't think my body appreciated whatever was in the NOS energy drink though because, in addition to picking up a Nyko Perfect Shot and a copy of the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, I also got a slight case of the runs...but that's a whole other story.

Alexander Sliwinski lets us know that we are the first of the public that ever get to play it.

7:21PM PST: Kyle Orland just passed along word to the Official Joystiq Live Blogging Desk of the Joystiq post-E3 2008 Party that there is a ratio of approximately .33 women to ever one man at our event. Girl gamers, where are you? Oh, another fun fact: the 19 pizzas we ordered? Gone in two minutes.

Hahahaha... I totally said that .33 women thing. Glad that was put up here.

The Pizza was gone in less then a minute... it was insane. I grabbed a slice right when the boxes opened, left and ate it came back 40 seconds later see if I could steal another all 19 gone...

Are those the new quieter RB2 drums? Cause they don't seem very quiet in that video. And if they're not, did you guys get to try out the new drums?

I didn't get to try the new drums, but I can say from being there that they seemed much quieter. I also heard that they were less "squishy". They seemed top notch.

And also we actually did blow out the original sub that we had on the system. So we were running off of ugly pc speakers that you couldn't hear. I played the drums and they were a lot quieter.

Oh the whole event was such a blast! Got there on time/early and was number 14. There was so much stuff, it was amazing, also really impressive! A game and a swag item, such a great deal! I picked up the Nintendo Wii Zapper and NDS Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Thank you thank you thank you (oh and a free shirt! :D)

I got to meet a lot of great people! It was a lot more fun and social (and yes there were several girls I would say between 10-20 girls total) then I expected. I am glad my boyfriend had us come to this. Tons of fun!!!!!

Also I was playing Rockband2 when the amp blew out... that kinda sucked... hopefully it wasn't too expensive. >.>; Here is the video of it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hgC7C3VbC4

Tons of fun, I will see about posting the photos I took on the flickr group later. :D Thanks again!

I am super-sorry that I couldn't stay longer. I was next on the list for vocals on RB2 but we had to get a friend to the airport. Next year, I'm in it for the duration. (I didn't know there was even a possibility of The Who showing up - you're pulling our legs, right?) It was great to meet everybody I got to meet, and always rocks to see Arne again. Without him, my involvement in any of this would probably have been over years ago. I also got to see the Dark Knight midnight showing and it rocked, but most importantly... WHEN YOU TELL A GUY IT'S "SINGER'S CHOICE", DON'T TWIST HIS ARM TO DO "PINBALL WIZARD" AFTERWARDS. :D
