"We're a Who cover band, we're not nearly as good as all the others." -- The Who guitarist Pete Townshend.
The Who, the freakin' WHO, are on stage right now and this is the event of E3 2008. We probably won't be able to liveblog this while we're rockin' out, but check back later for pics of some industry folks off the clock. OK, we're missing the concert ... gotta run. Update: Check out our full gallery here.

Ah, the challenges of working in the gaming industry - you get to stay up for 48 hours straight playing some of the best, and worst, the industry has to offer, and then they really turn the screws by giving you a Who concert at the end, right when you have a major conflict between life-sustaining sleep and The Who. Now that's a tough choice.

I thought this was a Rock band concert, therefore ActBilizzard would have nothing to do with it...the complete opposite in fact, as Activision makes Guitar Hero...

"Who is on stage?"
"Yes."
"Who is?"
"Yes."
"Oh. So the name of the band is Yes?"
"No, Aunt Slappy, Yes is not even AT this concert!"

speaking of Music, i was watching the new Hannah Montana music video (fuck you that's why) and at 1:19 I swear I saw the drummer from Nintendo's conference.

I'm sorry, but every time I see Pete Townshend, I see a huge nose. That's all I see. I respect the Who with every fiber of my being, but that nose...

I think it happened when he got into a fight with Roger in the early days of The Who. Roger punched him in the back of the head or something :P

I appreciate the final photo count. A little too coincidental fellas.

I'll have to agree with Pete's statement, on a somewhat more serious note.
Since Moon died, the Who pretty much died as well. As good of a drummer Zak Starkey is, he can't fill the goldfish-filled shoes of Keith Moon. Pino Pallidino does a fine job emulating John Entwistle, but again, without Thunderfingers, the Who just aren't the same anymore.
If Paul and Ringo got back together, could we still call them The Beatles?

What if the Who got together with the Beatles to fill in the missing spots? I think the Whotles would be a good band.

@David
I can't believe that I've never considered that idea. That idea is genius. It just... it synchs up so perfectly. If that were to happen it would probably be the ultimate supergroup, bar none. We'd have to stop using the word "supergroup" simply because nothing else would be capable of meriting it from that point forward.
