Veronica Belmont, of Qore fame, jams into a van with various Joystiq-network bloggers for this "special episode" of Qore. You'd think that a site owned by mega-corporation AOL would be able to give us more than one van to squeeze into. Just, don't tell the Los Angeles police department how many people we packed into the car (and its trunk).

What a bunch of social misfit losers on this board. Get out and meet a few women, go on a date, get a life.

Wow, lotsa Joystiq readers are sexually repressed woman-haters. Somehow I knew before before I even viewed the comments that someone would call [female mentioned in story, in this case: Veronica Belmont] a whore or a bitch or make some sort of sexual comment. Lo and behold! Look at the VERY FIRST COMMENT... wow, what is wrong with you people? I'm sure I'm gonna get voted down for sticking up for the opposite sex in this little "no girls allowed"-emblazoned tree house. But seriously people, get a f***ing life!

There is this great Somethingawful article about the "Internet White Knight" you should read it because it is about you.

It is possible to not be a virgin, not hate women, and not live in your parents basement, and still hate those hideous stupid glasses.

I'll agree. Veronica doesn't deserve to be called a whore. Those glasses are pretty big but just because Paris wears them doesn't mean Veronica is like Paris. From watching Mahalo I can tell they are completely different. If I met Veronica I doubt I'd even concentrate on her looks (she is pretty and has a girl next door appeal) but her personality because she seems like she'd be a nice girl to just hang out with, maybe do a bit of gaming, and just talk to.

But they weren't called "hideous stupid glasses"; they were called "WHORE glasses". That denotes an angry, sexist attitude.

I guess thats one way to see it, however I would argue that Whore has/is becoming like the word "Gay" where although it is still used for it's original meaning it also takes on a slang meaning, for example "That hat is gay" the hat does not have sex with hats of the same gender, but everyone (even people that don't like the term) instantly know what it means when you say it.
I use whore in the same way, like if someone drinks alot of your beer or soda and you call them a whore or whatever.
My god, I must really have nothing to do at work today...

Apparently none of these kids have been outside. These glasses are the "in" thing now.
Yes there are styles now that girls are into. No, girls are not into the WoW t-shirts from Hot Topic.
Here at FSU, if a girl was caught without oversized glasses, she'd be deemed "out of style." But honestly, you guys need to get a life and go outside and hang out with real girls, not the ones that have level 70 druids.

If every woman in the world wore those stupid ass glasses it still would not make them any less retarded, Mr. "Cool college guy who actually understands the world unlike us "nerds" guy".

Personally I'd rather be "out of style" than wear stunna shades or those big sunglasses but I know what you're saying. They really are the shiz at the moment. But I wouldn't call another girl a whore for wearing them just because I'm not a fan. :\

OMFG, I wish they would replace this chick Veronica Belmont. She is so lame and her sense of style is terrible. Please get rid of her and find a new host.

I'm sure you've never gone in front of a camera and tried to present information in an interesting way and not look like a dried plank of wood. It's not easy. I used to be a director of videography for a company and I know how hard it is to find someone with camera "presence" and not be camera shy.
I think she does a fine job, and she is still early in her role. I'm sure she'll improve even further, as most people do as they progress through any profession.

I understand what you're saying. It's just that to me she doesn't have that presence. Someone like Olivia Munn would totally rock

Olivia Munn is really talented, and of course she's very pretty. In fact, she's one of the few people I've ever watched television and actually been impressed by. Kevin Perera is the same way (minus the pretty), though I know that many people don't like him. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but they are two very witty and talented hosts.

Sony needs to talk to Olivia Munn's agent. She kills when she gets in-front of the camera.
Kevin is a little bias when it comes to 360. That's his only problem.

Well, then we have that in common because I'm a little bias towards the 360 as well. All three systems have their place, but I just prefer the 360 over the other two. I think its hard not have some bias towards one system depending upon the type of gamer you are.

I don't hold anything towards the 360. I just don't like the fact that the system is flawed architecturally. Besides that it has a great library for the time its been out on the market. I don't really compare the two systems personally. Out of all my friends I'm the only one that's never owned a 360. But I can tell you that all of their 360 have died already or just did. Slowly they are moving towards the PS3. Both systems have their own challenges. PS3 needs to beef up the PSN and build a stronger community.

And if anybody doesn't understand why nintendo Ignores the average gamer just read this thread. If you think it is cool to call somebody a whore cause they have a specific type of shades on wow. If you furthermore think people who defend the women that you are besmirching for....wearing shades, is a loser then hats off to you.

Not sure why the guy was banned. He never even called her a whore. He was talking about her glasses.
If you all actually read the comments you wouldve seen that.

I just dont understand it. I am guessing someone at Joystiq has a crush on her.
I mean, the guy a few comments down from Bucfan, called Paris Hilton a whore ( I am not arguing) yet Bucfan's comments said she had whorish glasses. It sounded like he was just ragging on her style, and many of the style of women today.
Nothing wrong with that imo. Oh and the Bangbus guys only got their comments removed. Nothing left to say they were "creepy" or banned.
Then you got a kid at the bottom here who wants to do the big glasses chick in the bum. Nice

I think it happened because she is a friend of the site and that comment was clearly hostile and improper. And as the first comment it set the tone for the rest. Bangbus occurred by association.
If someone said that about my friend, that would not be welcome in my company anymore.

The name of the article should have been "Look! A girl!" While there's no need to be insulting, you're practically begging for trouble when you post a video that's so void of relevant content.

I think they are just trying to give us a feel for the whole E3 experience. If you haven't noticed, there have been plenty of small, somewhat irrelevant posts over the last few days that were meant simply to show the reader what it's like to be at E3.
Example of "E3 Experience" Post, that would otherwise be considered pointless: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/17/seen-at-e3-bear-witness-to-the-press-room/
