Shockingly pretty: Direct-feed inFAMOUS trailer
Sony isn't letting anyone get their hands on it, but inFAMOUS, Sucker Punch's super-hero-or-is-it-villain action-platformer for PS3, is still making a stir at E3. We've gotten our eyeballs on it – now you can, too.
The formal trailer shows off some very smooth platforming (something to be expected from the developer of Sly Cooper) as hero/anti-hero Cole scampers up walls and along rooftops. What's equally impressive is the apparently wide variety of ways he can use his electric powers to generally make a mess of the game world.
As pointed out during Sony's E3 press conference, inFAMOUS is a 2009 title, so there's every possibility it will turn out even more drool-worthy than it looks now. Erm ... electricity and drool? Probably not the safest combination.

This game looks very intrigueing, I'm thinking this one will make me want to dust off the PS3 after the "ok" experience that was MGS4.
Chimp @ Jul 17th 2008 7:38AM
You'll be dusting that thing a lot come the end of the year :D
Shader @ Jul 17th 2008 8:46AM
Seeing as I hated the first Gears I'm still waiting for a game that will make me "dust off" my 360, especially after the totally amazing experience that is MGS4.
I agree that this game looks very intriguing though.
Chimp @ Jul 17th 2008 7:38AM
This looks sick!
Neptune @ Jul 17th 2008 7:40AM
I watched the Gamespot presentation yesterday and actually got quite excited. "Shooting" was a bit dull imo, but platforming was great.
XIII @ Jul 17th 2008 7:46AM
Ummm, this looks pretty much like a Star Wars rip off to me. Apart from the "force" lightining, it looked like there were a few pushes i there too.
Eggy @ Jul 17th 2008 8:06AM
Yeah man I totally agree. just like that Star Wars thing is a total Bioshock ripoff. :/
XIII @ Jul 17th 2008 7:47AM
This looks like a Star Was rip off to me, what with all the "Force" lightining and a few pushes in there as well...
Hardcore @ Jul 17th 2008 8:18AM
DO WANT ....DO NOT WANT?
I say DO WANT
RC @ Jul 17th 2008 8:19AM
Looks great, can't wait to play this.

Does EVERY game have to include the term "darkness"? Anyways, for a super hero game his powers are much too tame. Why would I be afraid of someone who can manipulate a little electricity when I could have a high powered firearm?
The_Doctor @ Jul 17th 2008 10:36AM
because electrons move faster than ammo?
Burnt Meatloaf @ Jul 18th 2008 6:46AM
Nice comeback, but there are no electrons in electricity, unless you count air molecules excited into the plasma phase.
StaticKevin @ Jul 20th 2008 10:39PM
Because that someone can rain a lightning storm on your house, your car, your family, you? He can basically blow the crap out of anything.
Jomolungma @ Jul 17th 2008 8:39AM
Star Wars Unleashed meets Crackdown?
xFenixKnightx @ Jul 17th 2008 8:46AM
This looks really good! Again, saw thi sgame demoed on G4 and I liek it. Glad PS3 is getting some titles that make me wanna play it more. MGS4 sure had my PS3 running for a while but MGO is not all that fun and doesn't make me wanna play everday. I wish I could just play Free-for-all or the one where you play as or hunt Snake but it doesn't let you. It switches between gametypes which is dumb. They should've taken a page from IW and the COD4 ways.
Hyams @ Jul 17th 2008 11:03AM
Stop using the auto-match thing, and pick a server that only plays the games you want. Alternatively, host a match yourself.
But yeah, MGO is pretty meh. Good for a few games, but it isn't something I'll keep on coming back too (unlike Warhawk).
j.howlett @ Jul 17th 2008 8:47AM
i like what i'm seeing. i saw the demo on g4 and the way he climed the street light reminded me of sly.
zombienutz @ Jul 17th 2008 8:49AM
This looks like it could be a good game. Everything I see makes me look forward to it a little more.
Daniel @ Jul 17th 2008 10:15AM
Can't wait to play this game. It looks like GTAIV, only fun to play. As long as they keep attention starved friends out of it...
No, Roman, I do NOT want to go look at poorly rendered "beeg American tee-tees"......again
Jfk Aok @ Jul 17th 2008 10:21AM
Ok,
1. Stop with the Choose your Destiny - Be Good or Bad crap. Every game is doing it. STOP!
2. Stop with the "It's an open world...and by that I mean you can kill people in 3 or 4 different ways." That's not the definition of sand-box. That's not clever, original, or interesting.
I swear I've played this game before, and it's not even out yet.
The games tone and execution...so tiring. The only thing it's missing is the post-apocalyptic setting. And it seems like it's a game's setting is at the brink of that, so I'll give them half credit on that end.
Vcize @ Jul 17th 2008 10:37AM
This game looks awesome. Like Crackdown (which was AWESOME), except you can shoot lightning and it has supervillains.
After the FFXIII announcement this is the sole reason I'm keeping my PS3. Very excited about this game.
I hope they have a day/night cycle though. Every trailer and every second of the 13 minute gameplay video I saw has been at night so far.
Fire Safety @ Jul 17th 2008 10:46AM
Whatever happened to being able to take the shape of different people and having super strength and agility? Being able to transform into different things? Did they scrap all that for the quite more mundane 'electricity' powers, or am I thinking of another game?
gameforall @ Jul 17th 2008 11:04AM
Fire Safety.
You have got the wrong game, that feature is in Prototype not inFAMOUS :P
Hyams @ Jul 17th 2008 11:05AM
Different game.
fred @ Jul 17th 2008 11:21AM
THAT'S THE GAME I WAS THINKING OF
Prototype, yes. I was thinking the same thing.
Both look good though.
Audrey The Samurai @ Jul 17th 2008 10:58AM
i'll make this quick.
i played this game four years ago.
it was called psi-Ops: the mindgate conspiracy.
Hyams @ Jul 17th 2008 11:06AM
Really? 'cos this game has very different powers to psi-ops and is a sandbox game.
Hyams @ Jul 17th 2008 11:08AM
I dunno .. it looks a bit 'meh' to me. But then, it's hard to tell at this point. I'll wait for more info before I really make my mind up.
chris @ Jul 18th 2008 4:08PM
It has a beautiful level of graphicals detail for an open world game. I'm excited about Infamous. This makes Prototype look bad by comparison.
kinshadow @ Jul 17th 2008 11:51AM
AKIRA!
Jacksons @ Jul 17th 2008 2:12PM
Looks good to me!
Alcevious @ Jul 18th 2008 3:49AM
Will this make me buy a PS3? Who knows? I do! The answer is maybe.
Lewis87 @ Jul 21st 2008 4:00AM
Infamous is a superhero action game. You don't play as a villain, you fight villains in it, but you can choose to either be a traditional superhero being all good and as non-destructive as possible, or an anti-hero who does things his own way.
