Shows up at $39.99 for me (the price I bought it at on Monday). Definitely worth it even at $40 - I finished the game, finished the bonus content (which was hilarious), and STILL want to play it, which has pretty much never happened on an adventure/rpg.

Serious question:

I like RPGs. I like Square-Enix generally. I love handheld RPGs. I've played AND LOVED Magical Starsign, Children of Mana, Final Fantasy III, and so on.

I am interested in TWEWY, I have heard good things, but it looks really, really obnoxious. I hate the idea of the "fashion" thing, and again, the character design makes me want to go out and punch hipsters.

That being said, do you think that I, as an RPG fan, would enjoy this game despite my hatred of the aesthetic? And if so, can you specify elements of the game play that lead you to this conclusion.

I can't reconcile all the awesome things I have heard about TWEWY with how much I hate (HATE, I am using the word hate here, HATE) the character design. I hate people like that in real life!!!

I've never played the game, but if you hate the aesthetic of it so much, I doubt you'd be able to put up with it enough to actually end up liking it.

I don't know, it is possible. I've been playing "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3", and it's the same thing - I really hate the look of it, but the game is so good that I can ignore what I do not like and focus on what I do like. I just wonder if TWEWY is like that.

Oh my God, I could actually RENT the thing. They do that nowadays at video store. Man, I'm stupid. Disregard earlier post.

Sad thing is, if you've waited for a chance to avoid the Square-Enix tax before buying this, renting the game would negate any savings you would have attained from purchasing it at $30. I locked myself in this trap with Mario Kart Wii, where I enjoyed it immensely after renting it for two weeks, but realized that it would be like purchasing it for $65 instead of $50 if I went out and bought it after having paid two weeks' rental fees on it, so now I'm waiting for a price drop just to get it to regular retail value.

Update: I'm giving up on updates. Lol. This Amazon sale is way to schizophrenic for my tastes.

Anyone should feel free to comment if the sale goes back on, though!
