Know what else is "not appropriate" Ubisoft? Exploiting the "tween girl" market

They are responsible for bringing No More Heroes to America, at least

Though it only atones for a fraction of their sins

Why does Ubisoft need to have their own space for E3? So they can show us more titles they put no effort into making? Yea Ubisoft, that will be a great way to shell out some quick titles just to make you richer.

Ill save my money for High Voltage thank you. :)

The biggest complaint I have this year is the lack of new game announcements.

Otherwise, I thought the media coverage was better than ever. G4 did a great job of showing tons of live, hands-on demos. It seems like they had better access this year and less non-game stuff to focus on. That was great because I got to see so many previews as a result. Now I am totally excited about some games that I hadn't even paid attention to before I saw them in action. (MK vs. DC looks really freaking cool, especially the fights that happen while you are freefalling. It looks like the series has some great new additions.)

Things like booth babes, cos players, and overly flashy booths just detract from what I really care about - the games. I'm really glad all that stuff is gone. I wouldn't mind if it were held earlier in the year though.

For once, Ubisoft and i are in total agreement.

Restore E3, or merge the current E3 with PAX

What we currently have is unacceptable

E3 needs to be what it used to be. One big gamer-infused booth-babe oogling, game-demo playing, drool-worthy homage to all that is video games.

*Puts in his tape of the last "real" E3*
Sigh...

Wouldn't it be an idea to have 2 side by side conferences. One for all the glitz and glam, and one (perhaps by invitation only) reserved for the more serious presentations and discussions. I think Ubisoft and the others want to protect the sanity and safety of their staff. Which is fair enough.

I would like to see the return of mega-E3. It's just so over-the-top amazing. And the 'bigness' of it does something to justify its existence; the current E3 so bland that the announcements made really don't seem like they're any more special than if they were released on the company's website on just any day of the week. Of course the emphasis should always be on the games, but a little flare and a lot of fun never hurt.

If we get more good games, whatever it'll take short of striking your faces with big wads of cash.
