Alan Wake to show his face at Tokyo Game Show
Although missing in action from this week's E3, Alan Wake will roll out of bed and board a plane to Japan for this year's Tokyo Game Show. According to an MSN Games "'WOW' Be a face in the game" contest, the winner will be given a trip to Finland to be scanned into the computer, then "jet off to Tokyo to [TGS] to be on the scene and on the screen!"

Good to see MGS has a lot of games to show off at other events. And It'll be nice to see how Alan Wake is shaping up. Umm.... when is TGS by the way?

are you sure it will be shown at THIS year's TGS and not actually planned for last year but was a no-show?
anyway, i'd love to finally see some progress in this game. i've been hyped about it the way i was with shenmue before the dreamcast even came out.

About time I say, but from reading the other comments is this info not valid or something? :'(
carg0 @ Jul 18th 2008 9:40PM
until this "game" is spotted on store shelves it remains vaporware. period.
ThePerfectCompanion @ Jul 18th 2008 9:42PM
SWEET!
I've been watching this game very closely. Another great 360 exclusive in the works.

"To celebrate the launch of their new operating system, Microsoft is offering one lucky winner the opportunity to be digitally made-over and inserted (virtually of course) into a blockbuster game! Simply watch the Vista gaming demo and you could appear in the latest Remedy blockbuster, Alan Wake, a psychological action thriller with an intense cinematic look. Let the games begin with a trip to Finland to be digitally mastered into Alan Wake’s world, then jet off to Tokyo to the 2008 Tokyo Games Show to be on the scene and on the screen!"
TGS is OCT. 9-12. 3 months should be enough time to put something together, hopefully a playable demo.

These games that get delayed for years without any proof of progress always end badly. They have to be screwing something up for so much fail to happen.
NukeAssault @ Jul 18th 2008 10:45PM
Ill believe it when i see it... And when i see it i better be shitting bricks.
GiantHaystax @ Jul 18th 2008 11:22PM

GiantHaystax @ Jul 18th 2008 11:27PM

"These games that get delayed for years without any proof of progress always end badly."
As with other Remedy games, the release date has always been "when it's done" (that is, Remedy has never announced any dates, though Microsoft may have). So there have actually been zero delays and there's really no point in calling out "vaporware!". Remedy is known for long development times. They're also known for quality. Alan Wake will take as long as it needs to.
Dwag @ Jul 19th 2008 6:10AM
I guess this is another case of oh 360 exclusive so its getting attention when really we got games exactly like it coming out?
Siren
Silent Hill
Resident Evil
Fatal Frame
I mean survival Horror sorry my friend but from the trailer it looks lke a generic title. the names not scary LAME.
PojoMofo @ Jul 19th 2008 8:40AM
ill believe it when I see it.
Brock @ Jul 19th 2008 3:02PM
Anybody else think he looks like Christian Bale?
mister_d @ Jul 19th 2008 3:55PM
Not sure why people are so suprised this game is taking forever. I can't think of another open world game in development that is anywhere close to Alan Wake in terms of technology.
It only really seems like this has been in the public eye for so long because they were showing of tech demos long before we heard any details about what the game was even about.
