Get a Wii gun shell for only a few times its worth
Want a Zapper-type gun shell for your Wiimote but don't want to overpay for what basically amounts to a handle? Well ... you're basically out of luck. But if you want to overpay somewhat less than the usual too-high price, Amazon.com is offering CTA Digital's Wii Magnum Gun, a Perfect Shot ripoff, for $8.99 as their Deal of the Day.If you're concerned about the quality of this plastic gun shell versus other plastic gun shells, just remember: seriously, it's a piece of plastic, and probably does just as good a job of being that as any other piece of plastic. Don't think our dismissal of their complexity means we don't recommend a gun shell; anything that gets you playing Ghost Squad is a good thing.

My personal favorite:

(Left Analog Stick * 0.5 * 5 seconds) +
(Right Analog Stick * 0.5 * 5 seconds) +
(Left Analog Stick * 0.5 * 5 seconds) +
(Right Analog Stick * 0.5 * 5 seconds) +
(Left Analog Stick * 0.5 * 5 seconds)

@phillip
the only way to do that is to use your nose to tilt the joystick. Shadows of the empire debug cheat you were quite the bitch to endter

Well I was going for a Space Channel 5 thing, but codes are good, too.

@Philip, Shmil - Don't forget to enter the name " Wampa Stompa"!
Phillip @ Jul 19th 2008 12:13AM
@Arttemis: Ah, yes. I forgot to paste that in.
@Shmil: Actually, I did have to have my sister help me sometimes, but I have pretty big hands and I got to where I could do it with just my own fingers:
Right thumb: C-buttons
Right ring finger: R
Right index finger: L
Left index finger (the side of the finger): Left Pad
Left middle finger: Z
Left thumb: Analog Stick
And that, I'm sure, is more than you ever wanted to know. :-)

I like the perfect shot design, I have 2 but the stiff trigger SERIOUSLY starts to hurt after even the first level of zombie killing (house of the dead).
Also the boxy handle isn't too comfortable. So far there isn't a perfect solution for a light gun on the wii (which after a year and a half is a shame) but nyko's perfect shot comes the closest (and by comparison this rip-off i guess).
The Fatass of Kickassness @ Jul 18th 2008 2:58PM
I dunno, that Pelican Duo Shot is looking better than all the competition simply because it has a trigger for the A button as well.
The_Punisher @ Jul 18th 2008 3:04PM
So this is a ripoff.....of a ripoff?......
The Fatass of Kickassness @ Jul 18th 2008 3:06PM
No, this was out months before the Nyko Perfect Shot.
Jfk Aok @ Jul 18th 2008 5:57PM
"I like the perfect shot design, I have 2..."
You can stop right there. Anything else you can possibly say to me has been rendered useless for the rest of your life.
Nutchos @ Jul 18th 2008 6:10PM
@JFK AOK
excuse me? What's so bad about the design of the perfect shot? The trigger they designed (which pushes the button on the bottom of the remote) is about as effective as a solution for $12 can get (from dell.ca).
A lot better than most of the other light gun addons on the market which don't even offer a spring trigger.
Anyway it does the job pretty well, uncomfortable but better than any other design.
Matthew @ Jul 18th 2008 2:52PM
I've heard bad things about this one. I'll stick with the Perfect Shot as my piece of plastic that I almost never use.
Wiinterfang @ Jul 18th 2008 2:53PM
What happen to mai comment? :/.
The Fatass of Kickassness @ Jul 18th 2008 2:56PM
This fucked up comment system happened. Give it a few hours/days/weeks/millennia (depending on how the comment system FEELS today) and your comment'll display with a bit of reliability.
mr mobius @ Jul 18th 2008 3:47PM
At least it's only your comment.
I've been trying to change my avatar here since E3 started and it still hasn't worked.
Tiptup300 @ Jul 19th 2008 1:44PM
When you post a comment it tags on a # with other stuff on it. To see if your post actually worked, you have to just erase the # and anything to the right.
The Fatass of Kickassness @ Jul 18th 2008 2:54PM
Even more fun than actually buying and using the thing, is reading the comments at Amazon.com, where the twits who bought it were downvoting it because it didn't work with games like Call of Duty and Metroid. Hurrrrr
Duke @ Jul 18th 2008 2:56PM
I am not buying any devices for the wii right now. I have enough stuff laying around never getting used for my consoles.
mykie @ Jul 18th 2008 3:17PM
Not all plastic gizmos are created equally!
You gotta think about LEAD CONTENT.
Mrblonde @ Jul 18th 2008 3:19PM
Slow news day. We forgive you though joystiq cause you have provided us with much gaming nirvana these past few days =).
Jack Tretton @ Jul 18th 2008 3:25PM
I want to say one word. Are you listening? Plastic.
The Fatass of Kickassness @ Jul 18th 2008 3:31PM
Okay, Joystiq, this is getting annoying. It's truly a shame when your site tells me an article has thirteen comments, and I click the name, and then it suddenly has twelve, and I refresh, and it has 21, and refresh again, and it has 17.
Shit is worse than the old system and is in desperate need of a fix.
Gun Barrier (Gamer Tag) @ Jul 18th 2008 3:50PM
lol i thought i was the only one with that problem. I assumed everyone else was just complaining about replies not being in the right place, and comments not posting.
samfish @ Jul 18th 2008 4:36PM
Just rip off Kotaku's comment system, Joystiq. It's soooo much better!
Mr Khan @ Jul 18th 2008 5:07PM
We've ALL been having that problem. At least, i have across two different computers and the Wii, and three different web browsers
I've gotten used to it, but would like it to start working again
Player1 @ Jul 18th 2008 3:45PM
Actually, there's more to these than just being a piece of plastic. There are moving parts. The Perfect Shot has a passthrough for the nunchuk. The trigger on the Perfect Shot is pretty stiff and squeaks after a lot of use. The zapper has a quick, responsive trigger.
If there was a Perfect Shot with a thinner handle, a trigger more like the zapper, and an actual built-in site so you can align in properly for games that feature configuration, then it would be much closer to perfect. Also a way to insert the wiimote without putting stress on the port when getting it in and out.
As for gun shells as a whole, it makes a difference, not only in feeling more like a gun, but you are aren't hitting a button on the top or bottom to shoot, and throwing off your aim every time you fire. I am all for gun shells.
T @ Jul 18th 2008 4:07PM
Does this (or the perfect shot for that matter) have an opening to plug in the nunchuk?
Jfk Aok @ Jul 18th 2008 5:54PM

Me: Hello, are you John Smith?
John: Yeah...and who are-
Me: And did you buy the stupid piece of plastic gun-addition for your wii controller on Saturday, July 19th on Amazon.com using a credit card ending with 7782 for 9 dollars? And then bought 20 dollars and 53 cents of junk to qualify for the free shipping?
John: Umm...yeah...wh-
*Pokes John in the eye*
John: OW, what in the world was that for?!

It's hard being poor.
Scott Winston @ Jul 19th 2008 12:00PM
I'll troll here because I feel its worth it: I recommend the Nyko Perfect Shot, but only because thats what *I* own and it looks cooler and reportedly feels heavier with a more springy trigger. It's well worth the $15. I just got it and House of the Dead 2 & 3 and love it.
kaiswil2 @ Jul 21st 2008 5:21AM
Well anyone else notice the picture has a black hand holding that gun? Whatcha say Joystiq?
