BPM, I agree with you. Look at Wii Music, people want Miyamoto to show a sequel to last year's games, instead of letting the guy work on original stuff.

I guess that's part of the difference why we talk about video games and not make video games like those guys.

@BPM: Thanks for being reasonable. I personally thought it looked kind of interesting, but heaven forbid I go against the irrational nerd hate machine that's already built up over maybe, what, five total minutes of footage? Maybe not quite up to traditional Castlevania-- and I was getting the whole Misa thing off of Maria, too-- but it's at least probably going to be worth a rental.

@Shaq-Fu: Stop trolling every thread about this 3D Fighter. If you were trying to be sarcastic it's long since stopped being funny, if it was in fact ever funny.

Honestly, I love Castlevania but this game looks like a pile of shit.

The Character design is fucking horrible, the graphics look like a step down from Soul Caliber 2, and it's a 3D fighter. What the hell, IGA? You're not going Sonic team on us, are you?

Yup, I hear ya on that one. SotN was one of the best games ever, so I've been wondering why they haven't followed up on that on the major home consoles. The DS games are good, but it would be so badass if IGA and his crew used the hardware available now to produce some mindblowing stuff. If 2D works, stick to it. You won't find me complaining.

As far as this mess goes, It looks like something that should've been a launch title for the Dreamcast. Not very pretty at all (unless a few people here dig the male character models...PSHAW!).

Hey, at least it's not the biggest piece of shit with Castlevania in the title. I'm sure the whip-less movie will be much worse.

No, but I think you just stumbled upon a way to make Judgement salvageable.

The game seems to stand excellently on its own as a parody of Castlevania -- crappy dialogue/VA, laughable character designs etc. All they need to do is make the 3D models all cute and superdeformed, and add in a little more open mocking of the franchise.

I would totally buy a "Parody-vania Stone".

You know, I agree that the character designs are ridiculous, and those probably aren't going to change, but really people the game is still in a pre-alpha state.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/888/888655p1.html

The graphics are going to look a lot better by the time the game comes out; bashing them at this early point in time is a bit nearsighted.

Anyway I'm going to hold my... er... judgement, on this, until it comes out. The IGN preview said it handles a bit like the 3D console Castlevanias, but in an arena combat setting, and really the only thing horribly wrong with those games was the mind-bendingly repetitive level design.

...

Oh right, and the boss battles.

...

Point is, I think that sort of gameplay could work well here. It depends on Konami. I say leave it up to them and wait until the reviewers have had a shot with the final build.

Applause: Shaq fu was able to keep that trolling up for a page with out people giving up, and then even counter arguing his own claim on Street Fighter 4. At which point people should have said "AHHH HA! You just messing around a trolling hardcore not being serious at all!" Epic trollage noted, sir.

When are these guys going to realize how badly we want a true next gen successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? Give me a 2D platforming Castlevania, please. I'll buy it in a heartbeat. This? This horrible 3D fighter trying to cash in on the Castlevania name is a waste of everyone's time.

I mean don't they see how well the 2D versions sell on the handhelds? And didn't SotN sell really well? Am I the only one who sees these things and thinks, hey, let's try another one of those on the PS3 or 360?
