They can't, Nintendo has a patent on cross control pads. That's why everyone else has a different, shittier design.

Nintendo's patent expired in 2005, so there's nothing stopping them.

Datel huh then it most be a piece of crap on a stick.

Datel products have a really poor quality; all the accessories I bought for my PSP from datel won't work or are broken.

But...it's a datel product.
I have yet to buy a piece of hardware from them that did not malfunction, like, every single Action Replay I've had a problem with.
