A look at Left 4 Dead's green thumbless box art

After falling in love with the game during E3, Valve's Xbox 360 exclusive co-op zombie killing fest-of-awesomeness, Left 4 Dead has secured a piece of our video game heart. And today Valve released the game's official box art featuring an abundance of the color green, a dismembered hand (very similar to the Dead Space artwork) and absolutely no thumbs. After all, it is called Left 4 Dead and having a fifth finger would totally mess up the "4" vibe they were going for. Full size and thumbless Left 4 Dead box art is viewable after the jump.

Pretty clever.

As said on Joystiq, they need to modify it to be a left hand. Or just come up with a different one... This isn't all that appealing.

That just makes the game seem really generic.

Way better than the original.

This isn't a 360 Exclusive, it will also be released on the PC. (FYI)

I been watching alot of zombie movies waiting for this to come out. I started with George Romero's originals and now I am watching the remakes along with the 28 days/weeks later. BTW FIDO is the best zombie movie ever.

I wish it was a Left hand instead.. but, I also think a left hand would make the fingers look funky for the cover.. *Sigh*

Step one: Point to the left.
Step two: Display four fingers as shown on cover.
Step three: Slashing motion across throat.

Soooo hawt.
