Puzzle Quest update to infect XBLA this Wednesday
Those jewels you've been collecting are about to get a whole lot more infectious, as D3Publisher announced that its player-christened Puzzle Quest expansion, Revenge of the Plague Lord, will infest Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, July 23.
Develped by Puzzle Quest devs, Infinite Interactive, the 700 Microsoft Point update will offer a virulent mass of new content, including 25 new quests, 50 new spells, 40 new items, and four new heroes, as well as the ability to build up characters to level 60. In addition, Revenge of the Plague Lord will also add three new Achievements to the popular puzzler, giving us plenty to feed our fever until we look to the skies next year.

is this a free update?
Sunny @ Jul 22nd 2008 12:10AM
If it is free then I'm gonna be buying this game very soon. I've held off but I love developers who beef up their games with free content.

700 Microsoft points for that? I didnt get into the game as much as I would have liked, so almost $9 for add expansion seems like a bit much.

700 points? wtf
Who comes up with these stupid point schemes?
Also, too much.

I bought Puzzle Quest on both XBLA and the DS, and I don't think I've put more than 5 minutes into the XBLA version. It has better graphics and sound of course but to me the gameplay suffers because it's harder to take in the whole board. On the DS you can easily see everything and so its easier to setup multiple gem destructions. I may pick this one up anyway though just to support a developer that's really showed how a little bit of innovation can still be fun for the consumer and successful to a publisher in today's market.

Ding ding ding! I'll support it for the same reason, even if I haven't put as much time into the XBLA version.

It's harder to see the whole board on the 360 version?!?!
Are you playing it on a 9" portable?
Vaitork @ Jul 22nd 2008 10:08AM
I have to agree with grex9101 here. If the issue is the 'visibility' of the board, then you can't go around saying that you can see the board in the DS version better than, well, anything else.
The way I see it:
DS: Control scheme and innovation
Xbox: Visibility, sound
PC: Control scheme, visibility, sound, etc

I think what he's trying to say is that it's harder to see because of how much bigger everything is. Depending on how you have your system set up, you'll have to look around more on the 360 version. Everything's in one glance in the DS version.

I just bought this Sunday. I hate it so much but I can't stop playing it. I keep wanting to stop and can't. I'm glad it's priced so high, if it was free or cheap I'd never get back to my other games,

700 points should add about 180 gamerscore points. Unfortunately, only 50 points are added to the original 200 points giving a total of 250 points.
I'll be skipping this one and playing 1942 this Wednesday anyway.

I really hope that's a typo and it's 800 points. I hate DLC that doesn't stick to the 400/800 point scale.
