As long as you have the option to use the analog sticks, I'm sure it will be fine ;)

I agree. Assuming the final product isn't plagued by bugs or the like I might buy this.

If this eventually comes to consoles, I'll be thrilled.

I second that. I bought Mass Effect on PC so I could have it whereever I was...only to be betrayed by it not allowing the use of the 360 controller. Still a great game, but I prefer two analog sticks opposed to WASD and the mouse...not to mention triggers. How much more fun is it to shoot things with a trigger? I'll wait for the console version as well.

Give me the left button of a mouse to shoot things any day.

Dude.

The PC controls for Mass Effect alone made a much better game then the 360 version.

Oh Bioware, you had me at floating numbers and stabbing the devil in the forehead. mmm reminds me of good ole fashioned d&d gameplay. It's good to see Bioware going back to their roots.

Bioware can do no wrong in my mind. I've enjoyed every game I've played from them. I'm sure this will be just as good. They are top notch storytellers. Now if EA can give them a little help in framerate and pop-up issues they'll be no stopping them.

Pretty shallow to not buy a game off of one screen shot ;-)

I recall a game...Two Worlds that had beautiful screen shots. The game was crap and ran at 11 frames per second half the time. So I'd try and go off of more than just this to determine if you'll buy the game or not.

Looks good too me. Nice to see me give my PC some love soon, because I have been playing too many console games lately. I feel like I've abandoned it.

How... Very generic. Really. This looked like a standard party-based D&D RPG.

So basically its the usual thing from a Bioware game, massive focus on story, dialogue and making it pretty, then tagging on gameplay at the end, other than the spell casting where he selected an area it looked frankly pathetic. I understand its an rpg not an action game but the imiportant factor in both of those is the "game" part. The interaction you have should all be well thought out and implemented, rather than just the choices you make in dialogue. (Yes, Mass Effect was a huge disappointment for me and this looks like the same game, minus the sci-fi)

You sir, seem to forget that this game is Bioware going back to the roots. Meaning, Baulder's Gate and d20 rules, and they do not disappoint.

Replying to Taco_Hell

It's not based on D20 at all, it's their own realtime custom ruleset.

For a second there, I was worried since a lot of people hate the 3rd person view over the top-down view. But then I think to myself "This is Bioware, and as a Bioware whore, I have to keep faith!" And my faith was rewarded as I saw you can switch between third-person and top-down view seamlessly. Also, thank god you don't have to revive your party members if they die. So many times I had to restart the battle because my cleric died and I didn't want to leave him. I can already tell this will be a one-day purchase for me.

Slow. Not even stable 30fps.

Let's just hope they will not [CENSORED] it up just like they did NWN2...

Obsidian Entertainment made NWN2. In addition this movie of Dragon Age will not be optimised code so the framerate won't be optimal.

Try and know what you're talking about before making yourself look an idiot. I'd guess that happens a lot.

Wow, it looks pretty generic. I was pretty awestruck when I heard one of the character yell "Have at you!" I thought that kind of stuff was ban from progressive video game design. I think including something like *visible damage to the enemy that you are fighting* would have been more interesting too, rather than monotonous fighting followed by unceremoniously stabbing the troll in the head. Why is RPG game design so formulaic?

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw that picture was Iron Maiden's Virtual XI album.

Why does Joystiq have to have snarky posts that are negative about EEVVEERRYYTTHHIINNGG. Even things they praised in the past.
