1942 out tomorrow in the US; 'a couple of weeks' in Europe

Capcom continues their bombardment of the PSN this week with another downloadable title straight from the annals of time. Literally. 1942: Joint Strike will be included in tomorrow's American PSN update and will be available for the low price of $9.99. Imagine that; an entire year for less than ten dollars.

Europeans will, sadly, have "a couple of weeks" to wait before they can get their hands on the remake of Capcom's classic top-down shooter. Unless you have a 360, that is. It seems SCEE's PSN department still needs a bit of straightening out. Sure, they're aiming for simultaneous worldwide releases, but we hope it won't take another year before we actually see some results in that department. The estimated price? £6.99. Don't get us started.

This WAS a must buy for me. I spent tons of time at the arcade playing this game.

But...since there are no Trophies, there is nothing really new here for me.

Dude I really think that sucks. This game should have Trophies already. I mean, trophies came out when? Its been enough time for them to add them in b4 release IMO.

Gosh, trophies are going to be like gamerpoints..... I'm sure if they never made trophies you would have instantly bought this game. I think I'll wait for reviews but I loved the arcade games.

But I thought achievem...., I mean trophies didn't matter?

I usually download anything worthwhile that is $10 or less. But i'm gonna pass on this one. For some reason it just seems rather boring when compared to other titles on the PSN. AND NO TROPHIES!!! Elefunk is kicking my @ss.

You can't spend points on a LIVE subscirption, and even if you could, i already bought Roogoo, Ticket to Ride, and Schizoid xD

10 bucks seems a little high to me. With Playstation Classics for 5.99, I don't see the point in paying more for a "lesser" title. Sure they jazzed it up a little...but it's still just 1942...

It's also the first and only vertical-scrolling shooter on the PSN, and to fans of the genre, that $4 could be $40 and it wouldn't even matter right now.

yea dude its $4 dollars. i cant even get a meal at McDonald's for that much and they call THAT a Value.

plus aren't they adding online Co-Op (or some form of co-op) and HD graphics? and its not just an updated version of an old game, its supposedly all new levels and more weapons and such too (read that somewhere i think). it seems well worth $10 to me, especially since i love me some vertical shmups!

Judging by a trend I am beginning to see, this game is going to miss out on some sales due to one thing..

THE LACK OF TROPHIES.

I wonder why Microsoft can release it in both EU and US while Sony cant.

They always blame the localization of the products, but that is probably just bullshit.

Wouldn't Capcom be doing the localization? I would suspect that there's a problem simply with SCEE's PSN release team (as I think Jem stated) being lazy/useless/good-for-nothing.

do you know WOT that make me really happy, i‘m nearly finish FFC-C 4 psp and 4 SCEE 2 get they finger out and release FF7 like quick on psn store here HOPEING *sighs*.

maybe us europeans have to wait the 'couple of weeks' so they can add trophies to our version then patch the US version at a later date if they so wish... :P
