Square Enix has a habit of showing trailers of their latest masterpieces in closed theaters at events most of us will never get to attend. So what's a fan like you to do? Why, you can send a spy to the event! User ryaris over at Photobucket has a recorded version of the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer from Jump Festa 2007. The video quality of this PlayStation 3 exclusive clip isn't bad at all, and it is definitely worth a look. We won't spoil anything else for you, so take a look for yourself -- trailer after the jump!

I think the only ones that'll cry are the ones who get a dumbed down port of a game built for a superior machine.

I don't understand why anyone would come to a PS3 forum and say "I'm gonna play this game on my 360!" Go to the 360 forum... nobody gives a shit what you do on your 360 over here. If it goes cross-platform, I'd say that's great. I'd get to play it on my console of choice and you'll get to play it on yours. Everybody wins.

And BTW, if you're looking to start a war, you could at least start with better material. Instead of lamenting over a PS3 exclusive, you could mention the fact that MS bribed Netflix off for 360 exclusivity or something of that sort.

lol, all the new RPG's suck compared to the golden days of 6 to 9. Nothing to brag about, really. I'm gonna go play Bioshock at 1680x1050 with 4xAA, since nVidia's drivers finally enabled AA in DX10 mode.

He must be talking about Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon, since Eternal Sonata and - let's face it - Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean 4 are going to end up multiplatform. I can't think of any other 360 RPGs worth playing in the near future, which would be why I sold my 360 after finishing L.O. the other day.

negatory versus is an exclusive its the other ffXIII thats going multiplat. really versus is just ff 14 they just really didnt feel like calling it that probably because squenix got tired of the ff5127 (or so) jokes

I don't really know anything about FF and that trailer looked really good. Imagine if it was gameplay and not a pre-rendered trailer.

maybe on PS3 , but not 360 for sure , maybe , but not for long .

if this stays exclusive to the ps3, and square enix works hard on it, they will see how much better it looks than ff13 on multiplatform, than it would on ps3 exclusive, and square will realize what they done and apologize, then we could get star ocean 4 and infinite undiscovery :) this game looks AW-SOME, i will pre-order it the day i can!

meh... as much as i'd like for that to be true, i don't think that's the case. they just export whatever game it is for the system they want from crystal tools... unless they're building the game on PCs that run on cell processors, the port from the PC tools is probably the same to PS3 and 360... of course i might be completely mistaken (and please tell me if i am), and actually hope that i am... i don't know enough about coding for videogames, but that's just my assumption...

By your statement it would be safe to assume that this title, losing its exclusivity, would lose its appeal.

I understand the significance of exclusivity, in fact I have been one of many Sony fans begging for more, but I would never say that exclusivity is the ONLY thing that makes a title great.

its a joke. not everything i write is something that shows my complete opinion on a subject or w/e. assassin's creed is one of my favorite games, its multiplat, no problem. i'm just trying a jab saying that this title is still exclusive, wether or not that will make it better...i'll have to wait for final fantasy XIII (what i was looking forward to) to find out. also can not wait till the anouncement of KH 3

Yes, Square will apologize and then have to stay after school for a week. Are you kidding? It's all about the money. If FFXIII does well on the 360, future releases will go multi-platform. Very few developers are exclusive these days. The best either platform can hope for is a timed exclusive. That's it.

Yea , but well you know , maybe because they make a few games exclusive to the PS3 , they will have much better graphics on those games , and because exclusive games will look twice as good on the PS3 by then , they will get free free hype for a game that might not have been as publicly known . So maybe if they want to make a new IP , the first one will be a PS3 exclusive to generate hype and sales .

yeah you're right, third-party exclusives are dying, but first party isn't. And if you want to talk about how xbox has more first party developers than i'll be happy to watch as you pull the bs out of your ass. Also just another thought for you, sony owns 6% of square enix so every game that you buy from them you just giving sony some of that money.

I honestly don't care if this goes to 360. I chose PS3 for BluRay and because it's a better long term investment. What I DO care about is missing out on exclusive content like Fallout DLC, Infinite Undiscovery, and Rez HD. Speaking of which, why the hell isn't Rez HD on PSN yet? I read an old quote for Mizuguchi saying it was a possibility.....

No , it's in the same world as FF13 , but maybe there's somekind of time travel or inter-dimmensionall travel .

bunky pls go back to xbox360fanboy, this is PS3fanboy, i think your at the wrong site, dont cry at the fact the 360 will get a messed up version of ff13, the ps3 sales of the game will blow the 360 sales out of the world, we got japan exclusive still, and more people in america and europe will get it on the console it is meant to be played on ps3. besides, all the 360 users will be playing thier haloz and gearz of war, all they play is shooters, lost odyssey would've done better on ps3, as so eternal sonata (we will see that this year) so bye bye

WTF is up with the music? I mean, neat, but it didn't look like it belonged to the trailer at all.... just covering over the horribly audio from the shaky cam? Still... looks pretty cool. Obviously that was all pre-rendered stuff, but it looks sweet nonetheless.

It is Japanese. Also, given the success of the FF series, they tend to be a little more experimental with visuals, gameplay...and even music sometimes. I kind of respect that about FF, they don't pull a Capcom and keep rehashing the same game with flashier graphics, they make critical changes that sometime make or break the experience for gamers. But that's what gives each FF its Identity.

the music is from the last boss battle in Lost Oddessey, (i was told) people were probably playing Lost Oddessey in another room

Very nice , Square should have released this to the public , it would have gotten so much hype . If they release FF13 and versus at the same time . , I'll be getting versus first . (which is very unlikely , since FF13 will probably be delayed to shit for the 360, at least Xbots are going to get the crappy port this time . )

IMO , Verus looks better that the main one (I don't think FF13 should be called the main game tho , I think that it's more of a series , and they're all from different points of view , or maybe versus happens before or after . )

Hopefully 360 fanfags don't get this too.

They already have enough JRPG games coming froe SquareSoft aka Microsoft+Square Enix.

Lost Oddysey, Mass Effect, GEARS OF WAR 1 & 2 (sh*ts on everything PS3 ever made) just to name a few.

The only thing that sells better on PS3, is Blu-ray movies! See attach rates.. OR DMC4, COD4, Madden, GTA4, etc, etc..

None of those games you mentioned have better graphics than Metal Gear Solid 4. Sorry, you fail. Go somewhere else.

By the way enjoy all those "exclusives" you have on that shitbox360 of yours (if you don't get an RROD first). I know I will when the better versions of them with more features and better graphics get ported to the PC. In fact, I think I'll go play the superior version of Mass Effect on my PC now. LOL

As i PS3 owner, AND a 360 owner, I fully hope this game comes to the 360 as well. The more people that get to enjoy games the better.

Exclusives are a necessary part of the gaming industry, but we as gamers, should not encourage them. We should try and let everyone possible have the same enjoyment as we do, regardless of which consumer purchase they made.

If the game comes to the 360, it means NOTHING to ps3 supporters, AND it makes a lot of other people happy. So whats wrong with that?

You must don't realize how business works. What you think happened to Nintendo? I'll tell you, they go caught up in their own hype, and let all the games we loved from Nes/SNES go to some "new console" called the Playstation. End result, we all became PS fans and let the N64 fade into oblivion.. Once that happened, they tried to make a come back with Game Cube but it was over! Now their just a gimmick console with inferior technology. Is that what you want for Sony? IF not you better start hoping they "keep/attain" some exclusives. Gamers WANT GAMES, PERIOD! The console that has the most/best games wins! As of right now that's 360. Developers follow the MONEY, not the brand.

Seriously though, was I the only one reminded of FF7 when I saw that? Well, FF7 mixed with FF7:AC and Kingdom Hearts; people in the meeting seemed a little like Shinra, the two lads looked like they were out of KH, and the car driving down that road reminded me of Cloud on his motorbike in FF7:AC.

Not that that's a bad thing though =]
