We were just a ... Wii bit shocked when a new Grand Theft Auto was announced for Nintendo DS and not the Big N's wildly popular home console. Still, it's no doubt a coup, but what about a proper Wii installment in the series?
MTV Multiplayer asked Nintendo of America prez Reggie Fils-Amie just that. When prodded on the likelihood that a DS version of GTA might lead to a greater possibility of GTA for Wii, Reggie stated that "GTA on the Wii is all based on what Rockstar and Take-Two want to do," adding, "From our standpoint, if they build a bottoms-up game that takes advantage of what we do well, I'd love to see it on the platform."
We're pretty sure Reggie meant a GTA that's built from the ground up for Wii. Or perhaps he was just getting into the GTA swing of things? If so, naughty Reggie!

Yeah, I don't hate it either but good christ am I starting to hate Reggie's stuck up attitude.
At least Iwata is apologizing unlike everyone else, I appreciate his guts to say that the E3 presentation could've been better, granted they aren't ready.

i've been playing bully on the wii and its been pretty damn fun so far. some missions are harder because of the IR pointer. if they could get a gta3:subtitle game on the wii with level 3 tight controls i'm in.

Please... no more... make the god damned whining stop. Please. I'm begging you, Joystiq. There's really nothing else to report, so you resort to soliciting flames from the fanbrats? I can't take it anymore... please. Please, for the love of all that is holy, just make it stop.

Take-two built a bottoms-up game for the Wii and it was banned pretty much everywhere

An orignal GTA on the Wii is a much better idea. Come on, you have to agree with that or else your a moron. And I believe it's gonna happen sooner or later.

I won't pummel you into submission seeing as English is not your first language. So I'll let your grammatical errors slide.
As for your thoughtless thoughts: you are clearly the moron. Aside from the PS2, the DS is by far the best selling console, and seeing as the PSP already had two GTA games it seems only fitting the DS should have one two. But not only is it a best selling console, due to its limitations it will force Rockstar to be rather canny when development time rolls around. We could get something that is actually interesting rather than the drabness that was the 360/PS3 iteration. A Wii version would simply be a revisitation of the PS2 games but with added waggle. Nothing more, nothing less. The same trite story will still be a consistent factor. Scaling down ambitions, as would be the case for the DS, could lead onto something truly remarkable, unique even. Do you really want the same in-out in-out GTA game over and over again, or would you like to see something ambitious, incredible; something never seen before? That something could be achieved on the DS.
Try and think outside of the box for once in your little life, 2DSquirrel.

Are you dense? Did you read what I wrote or did your mind capitulate after the first sentence? How can the game be original if it is so similar to it's predecessors? The last original GTA was GTA 3. The rest have been careful patchup jobs and slight incremental updates.
Or maybe an incremental update, however vapid the story is, is what you consider original. If so, this marks a new intellectual low for our dear 2DSquirrel. For shame.
Also, I don't appreciate your homophobia. Keep that nonsense in your hometown.

I'm very disappointed, but I'm going to hold out until the end up of the year. Also for all of you Nintendo fan boys, myself included, you can use the twilight hack to get what you want out of your Wii. It's easier than making a web comic. If you don't want to do that then get a 360. It is possible to own 2 systems at once. especially since the new price drop. So just trade in some of your wii games and a wii mote or 2 (you don't need 4). Soon you're on your way to owning a system that doesn't forget it's hardcore audience.

All the pure, unadulterated third-party shovelware crap that lands on the Wii every single week, and a port of one of the year's best-received games is where Nintendo says, "No more!" and draws the line.
You win, grandmas and unemployed "Ellen"-viewing housewives. Nintendo is all yours to keep. Regardless of one's feelings about GTA IV and the series in general, this is indefensibly retarded. The arrogant Nintendo of old is back, only this time it's churning out piles of shit instead of amazing games.

I think he is just trying to say that to impress or maybe he doesn't have the final decision on which is approved and which is not.

I hate to sound like a hater but one of the creators (or owners of R* something Hauser) said a few months bacl that he hated the Wii. He said he wanted to make real games for real gamers. Something to that effect.
Here it is ...

Wow, Nintendo is really starting to lose it!
The comments being made and the overlooking of core gamers is reminding me of the old Nintendo.
We'll see what happens but i'm not impressed.
Frankly, I haven't used my Wii in months now and i'm considering selling it.
Common Nintendo, give me a real reason to hold onto the Wii besides VC memories of old classics I used to play and love; we can do this for free if we want with emulation or an R4 or a custom firmware PSP!
......I digress.
