New Gears of War 2 footage from Gamestop tournament

Joystiq has obtained a video that's set to air at the start of Gamestop's Gears of War midnight tournaments tomorrow. The video contains an introduction by Cliff Bleszinski as well as "never-before-seen footage" from Gears of War 2. Is your interest piqued? Video embedded after the break.

Nah it might be a pistolwhip or lancerdown whore. I hate those. :P It would be perfect if it were 2 vs 2 on Ravendown but the rules say Gridlock will be the default map.

Dude, I respect your opinion when it comes to GOW. What the heck is people's problem with the Lancer - it's the default weapon for crying out loud!

Anyway, looks like run n gun is out for the sequel - running at someone w/ a shotgun will make you slow down as you get shot - so it looks like the emphasis is squarely on cover and teamwork.

Here's what I find people say on GOW:
Lancers are gay
Boomshot is for noobs
Host shotgun
Sniping is cheap

That pretty much leaves smoke grenades as the only fair weapon.

I love the Lancer! What I DO NOT like is n00bs backing up away from you just spraying at your feet and the floor all crazy-like so they can down you. I know you've seen it. Anyway, yeah man I've seen you on there. Ill send you a message to join mah party. We play only ranked but don't worry we have it worked out easily so we wont lose the party between matches.

Why do you hate "lancer whores"? Im personally a big fan of the lancer And the pistol whip.
If Im shooting at you from behind cover, and you start roadie running at me with a shotgun im going to switch to my pistol and bitch slap your ass. Why?, because shotgun battles are a craps shoot unless you're the host, so why would I get involved in one.
Quit your whining and eat my active shots :)

The 5-player co-op multiplayer mode sounds really cool. While I liked the multiplayer for the original GoW, the exploits sometimes killed the experience for me.

Hopefully the campaign is meatier this time around. The first one was way too short.

For me it all boils down to the party system. I think the game looks great, and the gameplay mechanics seem to mimic the first. But, I have to be able to play with my friends!!

Haha, I was just at Gamestop yesterday (friends made me go) and they answer the phones "Thank you for calling Gamestop, home of the GoW party and home of the exclusive content found only at Gamestop... blah blah blah." The colors blend together so much in the article's lead picture that at first I didn't even notice there was a guy in the lower left. I just thought he was part of the street.

Which reminds me of part of my problem with the first Gears of War. I had a hard time picking out the characters from the environments.

I'm pretty sure the characters wouldn't want to wear outfits that contrasted their environment anyway. Soldiers tend to camouflage themselves. Or so I've heard.
