PopCap bringing Peggle to DS this winter

If you've already played the game, you know it's a little like pachinko on crack or steroids or whatever drug means really fun and addictive. If you haven't played the game, then we'd urge you to think very carefully before starting, at least if you have any hopes of carrying on a normal life. Oh, and PopCap will also be bringing two seek-n-solve games, Amazing Adventures and Mystery PI to the system, not that you'll have time for them, what with all the Peggle.

For those that already have Pachinko from 2004's Super Mario 64 DS, what does this have to offer?
Shagittarius @ Jul 25th 2008 11:18AM
Still only as much of a game as Pachinko ever was.
And just for JMcE: Still not a game! =)

i admit it...i squealed out loud when i read this
mr mobius @ Jul 24th 2008 9:04PM
I could possibly be persuaded. It would need to be something amazing though considering it'll be the same as the PC Peggle.
Fernando Rocker @ Jul 24th 2008 9:09PM
I just read the full announcement... they are adding new features that “are not available on the PC, Mac or iPod version”.
I hope they add some online modes.
=p

Persuasion to me would be "it has Ode to Joy still"
Levi @ Jul 24th 2008 10:54PM
Mr. McElroy forgot to mention that this version is also going to be developed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment. I assure you, it will be amazing.

Fernando: 'they are adding new features that “are not available on the PC, Mac or iPod version”.'
Three words: Peggle. Construction. Kit. That would have me squeeing like a rabid fangirl at a Jonny's gig.
I'm buying a pal's iPod Nano soon - so that'll be Peggle wherever I go on four formats when I buy this!
eldee @ Jul 24th 2008 9:13PM
i was really hoping they would've made more vertical stages.. they're not exactly taking advantage of the two screens with this version, so I'll probably pass.
Haggard @ Jul 24th 2008 9:14PM
It's not THAT addictive. You get a little tired of the gameplay once you've completed the main adventure thing.
Gavin @ Jul 24th 2008 10:13PM
Yeah, the PC game was fun as hell for about two days and then it got SOOOOOO repetitive that I doubt I've even loaded the game up again since I beat it. Once you finish the adventure mode there is pretty much nothing else to do with it.
velocitySTRIKE @ Jul 24th 2008 9:26PM
There aren't enough free games making their way to Nintendo systems nowadays.
I kid, this is super news. Next step is to see it on WiiWare with some connectivity between the two :)
FSK405K @ Jul 24th 2008 9:34PM
It prints money.
mr mobius @ Jul 24th 2008 9:42PM
Not quite. It has money in it though. Every peg you hit causes a pound coin to drop out of the gameboy advance slot in the DS.

*ecstasy
nicktherat @ Jul 24th 2008 11:54PM
god i can not wait to download this illegally off the pirates bay and play it on my r4ds. there, i said it, move on.... WEED BREAK BITCHES, btw, MGO updates are anal rapingly slow.
JangoGod @ Jul 24th 2008 11:58PM
I have the iPod version, very fun game.
Though, I haven't played it once since I beat it...
Vidikron (FU) @ Jul 25th 2008 1:35AM
I love Peggle. This is good news.
Jacksons @ Jul 25th 2008 1:51AM
The flashy effects, sounds and colors define the game for me. If the crazy visuals get watered down too much, I'll pass. Here's hoping they somehow pull it off!
Alex @ Jul 25th 2008 2:12AM
They need to make a full version of Peggle Extreme, you know just a mod to skin the whole game in Valve apparel.
Hoffer @ Jul 25th 2008 5:47AM
I already have the iPod version. So, I doubt I'll buy this unless it offers something more.
I will buy the Xbox Live Arcade version whenever that shows up.
1ohanes @ Jul 25th 2008 5:58AM
What about Sequel? I want this Peggle nights badly!
Blazur @ Jul 25th 2008 9:13AM
Such a simple, yet addictive game. Zen Ball is the way to go!
mr nimblewick @ Jul 25th 2008 10:21AM
Zen ball? Tell you what, once you get some skill of your own, try out the spooky ball.
Mamba @ Jul 26th 2008 11:58AM
graphics suck on this
