Nintendo is holding some sort of event today in Japan, far from our watchful eye. Though it may be able to hide from the Joystiq Biomass, it can't hide from the internet, as the folks at NeoGAF have once again proven. User Jonnyram got some tidbits from the Japanese Rambling Man blog, which (according to his translation) says you can expect to see Wii Music in the Land of the Rising Sun on Oct. 16.
If the post can be believed, you can also look for Captain Rainbow in August, colored Wiimote straps in September and Valkyrie Profile DS on Oct. 2. We're a couple of language barriers removed from the source, so we wouldn't write it in stone, but the info does seem to represent our best guess at a Wii Music window for the moment.

I don't think so. I mean, it's made by skip, and they haven't made a game that hasn't come over here.
Chibi-Robo was localized here, and it is one of my favorite games of last gen.

GiFTPiA never made it to the states... And Captain Rainbow looks to have a lot in common with it.

The Captain Rainbow game looks very interesting. You guys should upload the new videos. There is a video featuring a fat Little Mac.
It's very weird.

Though I'm not sure what kind of game Captain Rainbow is, the fact that Birdo and Little Mac are featured has really caught my attention. I'm not real fans of those characters, but it could be a sign that the game is a giant Nintendo celebration sorta thing - kinda like how Brawl has all those bios and additional stuff. I liked that.

Unfortunately, that "joke" will sell hundreds of thousands of copies. Welcome to the Wii: The de-evolution of gaming, but with motion controls.

I think the conference may have shown it in the worst light imaginable. But even so, I don't think it'll be all that good.
Why can't the casual games also have depth and reward? Couldn't Wii Sports have a harder mode where you couldn't just hit impossible returns every time after playing for a month? And can't Wii Music have a mode which involves 'skill'/some relation to the player's action (and if you do have that, why didn't you demo it).
I don't like this pidgeonhole Nintendo seem to have put me in, where they think I'll be satisfied with a few games that have been designated 'core' because they have some returning mascots or because they have themes that scare off the new market (why on earth is GTA on the DS 'all I could ask for,' Reggie?).
To put it in writing, I want an original experience that isn't fleeting and is worth my time and money. That's why I bought a Wii, and it's mostly what I've had so far.

I actually find that Tennis and Boxing, the two sports that people most deride for involving the least skill, actually are the deepest out of them all. Wii Sports Tennis is still something i play once and a while, and once i figured out the Training modes, i can crush anyone who just flails around in boxing
And i find it hard to imagine that what we see of Wii Music is all that we'll get. It is fail if making music videos of mindless jam sessions is the sum of the game, that's for sure

My wife asked me for Wiifit. I flat out refused. We're getting DDR instead. Come on gamers control your ignorant casual friends and families.

I played my friend's wii then scolded him for buying it. He said his parents bought it for his little brother. He knows now that when his little brother asks for something stupid that he should slap him.

Heaven forbid she would actually have more fun with WiiFit than DDR, which people have been playing for like a decade now.

Wiifit is for morons. Its not exercise. DDR is more exercise then that stupid game. I know a scam when I see one. Wiifit is a scam. I hope NIntendo is paying you to be this stupid 4MyFriends. If not then your sad existence is wasted defending Nintendo.

Or you should let your wife buy the game she wants because she's, uh, your wife. You'd seriously bar your wife from trying something SHE might like, even if YOU don't? Whether Wiifit actually does anything remotely close to exercise is not the issue here. Sure, most gamers recognize a lot of this stuff (e.g. Wii Music) as shovelware or crap but if my mom, cousin, or cat enjoys it, I'm not going to try to "control" what they like doing.

The August release of Captain Rainbow would be consistent with the "Summer 2008" tagline in the trailers; if Wii Music is their October title, what can we expect in December?
